Halibut House Fish & Chips Pickering

Customer service was impeccable here and the restaurant is very clean, but the Cod my friend got was not so great, usually isn't super soggy. Maybe it was made in a rush, fries were ok. The Scarborough location crushed out this one this time. Maybe will have to try again at another time instead of lunch.

This Halibut House has always been my favorite location. They remember faces, the service is on point and the food is delicious! It's worth going back again and again just to enjoy the friendly staff.

Their haddock fish is phenomenal. Perfect fish to batter ratio. Not crazy about their fries. They are a bit pricey.three pieces of fish and one side of fries cost almost $50.

I'm from out of town. Every time I go to Pickering I always get fish and chips here. The best and not greasy.

Due to health issues, can't eat deep fried foods so ordered grilled fish which was horrible, two bites and threw in garbadge. It was not even 20 percent cooked

They fry the pork sausage in the same oil that they fry the fries and fish in. They will not prepare the fish and chips in any separate oil by request.

A little pricey for fish and chips ($25 per person) but the halibut pieces are great (huge piece of tasty fish). It was a tad greasy but overall a good experience.

Amazing fast service. We got the Halibut 2 piece with fries (lunch size) and it was sufficient for me and wife (as I personally dont like wasting food and heavy portions) Price is very reasonable and proportional to the portions: D

On the critical note, just the fries looked under cooked as they are thick cut its important that they are hot and fresh (i personally like my fries thick cut)

Ordered their special for take out. I ask for white vinegar only and decline all the other sauces. Lady throws in 3 packets of white vinegar in the take out bag. I ask for 2 more (I like to drench the fries with vinegar) and she said "we are only allowed to give out 3 packets". I told her that they use to give out more in the past.and she said covid this and covid that. She handed over 2 more.begrudgingly.

Really? You are going to nickle and dime me over 2 packets of vinegar? It is literally the cheapest thing in the world. This is when you've increased the price of your special by 33% in the last 2 years and then you're going to bring up COVID about 2 packet of vinegar? Get a grip. You've lost me as a customer over 2 packets of vinegar. A customer who use to frequent this place during covid to "support local businesses".

And then the nerve to be prompted for a tip when picking up take out. Maybe they would have given me the 2 packets of vinegar if I tipped.

Fantastic. The person who served us was superb. Nice smile, prompt and always asked whether we needed any additional items.

Ample parking available near the highway. But closing at 8 pm. Prices looks reasonable though no much healthy options. Though beer was available no fresh juice or sugarless drinks were available. Food were delicious though oily. Calamari, shrimps and salmon were available

Started good but then found a hair in our fish which obviously means that hygiene levels are compromised!

Totally unorganized. And ran out of fish. They were under staffed. People who pre payed got in after the delivery people. A.k. A Uber eats, skip the dishes, e.t. C.

It was so nice to be able to eat and have a beer actually inside a restaurant. The fish and chips were crispy and fresh. The beer was cold. You can't ask for much more.
BTW they serve great Breakfast too!

Good portions and very reasonably priced with their Sunday/Monday special which my whole family has regularly. If you dine in, service is friendly and usually attentive.

Our first time met all our expectations. The service was helpful and friendly, and the fish, chips and coleslaw were excellent!

Quick pick up time. Halibut and fries were good. Unfortunately the coleslaw looked like it had already been days old

Love these folks, great service, good portions, and the oil is changed regularly so fish always tastes fresh. Support them in these times and take out, they deserve it and u won't be disappointed. Btw Sunday and Monday are their special days!

Consistently good food is served here and you won't break the bank. We always get the halibut fish and chips with a side order of fries and gravy. Their gravy is really good. Previously I used to always love the gravy from Mary Brown's; this is better.

Fantastic fish! Light breading, tasty, perfectly cooked Halibut. Fresh cut fries! Huge portions. Love to get the Greek salad also.

I take my family to this great spot quite often! This is the best place to pass a nice evening. I visit this place routinely. The food is very good, the workers are courteous and the charge is fair. I like meeting in this spot for a rich dinner.

The food is great, big portions of fish and fries. However, when I went in, one of the cooks wasn't wearing his mask over his nose while preparing the batter and battering the fish. Wasn't impressed with how little he seemed to care about that.

Really good fish and chips. We had take out and the service was fast and efficient. We had both battered and grilled halibut. Both were delicious.

Reasonable price and the food taste great. Lunch special portions are a bit smaller than what other fish n chips give you but it is also cheaper. Service is usually quick.

Visit here frequently for take out fish and chips. Great quality, yummy halibut and cod. The fries and onion rings are delicious too! We dined in for lunch last week and had wonderful table service.

Food is very good, staff are friendly. Only down side is any changes in your order there is a up charge.

This is a reasonably large room with lots of tables. At our mid-afternoon visit it was quiet, so our service was quick and friendly. The menu is fairly extensive, but you can't go wrong with the basics.

It took a while for our halibut and chips to come out, but the server, unprompted, explained that the chef had to change the frying oil. As a result, the fish had a beautifully light, crisp batter, and the chips were thick cut and golden brown.

This is a place where you can get fish and chips (halibut fish from Alaska.). The place serves Alaskan halibut fish with french fries. They also serve a variety of breakfast for the customers. The place is open seven days a week.

The halibut is always fresh, food is always served HOT! Excellent lunch spot for quick and great tasting food!

Breakfast is good the cost is reasonable and the service was good.lots of leg room does not feel as carmpt as some breakfast place can be.suggestion make a few newspapers available for customers.

Great fish, attentive service. The portions are alright; a bit heavy on the chips. Better than I expected from a franchise location.
