I have been going to Henry’s fish and chips for the last 20+ years, great little spot! I get the poutine! Lovely people and good food!

Poutine only review for now. 1st time here.

What a hidden gem! Glad I decided to try this spot! I was in the area and made a stop at the store to grab a lotto ticket. Saw some kids eating the poutine and it looked great so decided to try. Ended up chatting a lot with the lady owner who is very fun to chat with. I’m a foodie and previous small business owner and like to know the story’s behind everything. Turns out this place is a neighborhood staple. Many customers are people who grew up in the area and I chatted with a customer who verified he used to come as a kid. So I ended up getting the medium poutine and let me start by saying the price is very reasonable, under $6. It was the perfect size for me to price ratio. The star of this is definitely 100% the gravy. She makes this vegetable based gravy every morning and it’s so light, thick and smooth packed with flavor. The oil they use is very good quality as well which creates a very light, very crisp French fry with a clean taste. None of that nasty oily taste you get with some places. Now they don’t use cheese curds but that’s okay here. The cheese still had enough flavor so if you love cheese maybe order extra. They also have various toppings you can add for free like Cajun spice. Cajun spice is very hard to find these days for free, it’s more of an old school tradition on fries. It was really good adding the Cajun spice! I decided to wait a few hours to write this review to see how I felt and I feel great. I just finished an intense workout and I hate feeling heavy after eating a cheat meal. This poutine by far was the lightest poutine I’ve ever had so far. I will now go to the gym further away just to come here for my cheat meals. Can’t wait to try the other items! Oh and if you decide to try this spot, make sure to eat it right away if you can. They have a few stools and seats or just eat it in the car. Any poutine in my opinion needs to be eaten within 5-10 minutes for max flavour. Cheers!

A heritage moment for poutine in Mississauga, this family owned shop has been here for a while—and for good reason. The poutine is amazing if you love a classic homestyle poutine. The family is so sweet too.

You'll have to wait around 5 mins for your food but it is well worth it! I recommend the Basa Special and upgraded fries to poutine!

Such an underrated gem in Mississauga. While unassuming from the outside, they offer great prices for the food with everything being freshly made. The couple that runs it is so sweet and incredibly considerate so I love coming here! Upon hearing that we were going to eat in the car, they offered us small boxes so it wouldn’t be messy. Just a great place overall!

Was a regular customer during my high school days and the owners are still the same. Not sure why others say otherwise. Poutine is their best seller and probably the most affordable one for the students in the neighbourhood.

Been coming since I was 6years old. Miss the old owners. Nothing much has changed. A couple upright video games would be nice too see again. Same old gravy and cooked to perfection fries and fish.

Wow, a hidden gem indeed! Went here because our usual go to is closed - and only accepts cash. Went with the family pack. I'm not so much a "chips" person, but my goodness - so good! And with the gravy? I dare say, we have a new fish and chips joint.

Came on 2 different days since it was nearby during my bicycle ride, initially had the basa and chips special (w/ drink), it's a great value for the price. 2nd time was for Haddock and chips, haddock is overall thicker and much more pleasant, you get what you pay for. The batter and chips were just right, not too oily or dry, the cajun seasoning they have on hand really improves it.

Overall if you're nearby, it's worth stopping.

Been coming here for over 20 years. Even after i moved from the neighborhood, i still make the drive to come here. The owners are so awesome. Almost every single time, I go for the poutine. I think I've actually had the fish & chips only a handful of times. But that poutine! People that grew up in the neighborhood knows it's untouchable.

Best poutine in Mississauga. This place is a hidden gem for sure. If I could afford the calories I’d eat it every day. If you’re a fan of poutine do your life a favour and try theirs. Their Cajun powder goes great with their fries.

Simply amazing fish and chips, I dare to say the best I’ve had in Canada, and I’ve tried a few good ones! All key elements were available to make it a real fish and chips shop, including delicious mushy peas. Everything was freshly fried to perfection, and the gravy was delicious too! Not to say about the amazing service, simply can’t go wrong!

I will go back. Little hidden gem if you’re in the area! Great find for delicious old school fish and chips. Fries are thicker and good, gravy is nice. Fish is thin and light, just how I like it. I would highly recommend takeout rather than eat in but the have a few old seats for a quick bite. Also not the cleanest in the front but the kitchen looked ok and the owner was very polite, helpful and kind. Prices are reasonable. Give it a try!

Great experience.wonderful couple.first time customer.good old school fish and chips. Fries are fresh. Fish is thin and light. Two options of coleslaw creamy or vinegar which was a really nice change. Show up or call it in. 10 min ready to go. Takeout was easy.they even put the order in and paper tray so that we could eat it in the car due to covid. Wife running the front was very polite, helpful and kind.we will be back 100%!

Used to pop in here regularly, back in my high school days (20+ years ago). Not the same couple but still excellent value, very friendly and good eats, too.

Great friendly service. Served hot and fresh. Portions are of a good size. A tad pricey but overall very pleased.

Arrived a bit late when I came to pick up my order and the owner kept the food warm when I arrived. The fish and chips in general is well cooked altho it could use some salt to enhance the flavour more. Poutine was surprisingly better than most places as mentioned by others. The owner is quite a caring person throughout the whole experience from the purchase to the hand off.

This location has been around for over 20 years for a reason. Even after all these years their prices barely change and are very affordable for the community.

Ignore any negative reviews. They are obviously coming from pretentious wannabe foodies who overrate poutine from Toronto or Montreal or something. I laughed at how privileged one of the reviews below me was.

You will get a really big portion of delicious, fried, hot, cheesy, goodness. The owners are the nicest people ever. You always leave with a smile.

This is a true gem of Sauga. Poutine is the best I ever had. Prices are fantastic and to top it off, you have the nicest owners of all time. Been going here for over 5 years and the quality has never went down. Huge respect to Henry's.

Fish is good, Chips are not! Great tasting halibut, not too greasy, nice flaky meat. Coleslaw (vinaigrette) is fresh and crispy. The (imitation) crab sticks are forgettable as are the shrimp. What really sucked was the fries. The service was really great though. 3 stars

Great fish, chips and poutine! OK location (but don't judge a book by its covers), great customer service, Ana is wonderful to deal with. My kids loved the fish as it was not greasy as some other places. Would highly recommend it.

Ever since my childhood, its been a treat for my mom to drive me to this location. I would always order a snack-size poutine and my older sister would order the small. The poutine they serve up has a more than generous portion of fries, gravy and of course ooey-gooey cheese. A good way to make your poutine even better is to sprinkle some cajun over your fries to give it some extra flavour!

They had some of the best poutine I've come across. I think the sheer surprise of it being so good at a hole in the wall location made it that much better. It isn't authentic by any stretch, but the fries were crisp and the gravy was very flavourful. Highly recommended!

I have been going to this place for 15+ years since high school. They have one of the best poutines in all of Mississauga. Amazing and friendly owners. Make sure you add the “Cajun” spice to your poutine. You have not had a proper poutine, until you have tasted Henry’s. Must try!

Great take-out fish and chips, haddock and halibut both recommended (they buy the fish whole and prep themselves). Poutine also good, medium is big enough for two. Price is no more than chain fast food places.

Best poutine in the GTA (but not if you're looking for authentic)! The fries are crispy, the gravy is flavourful and savoury, and the cheese is stringy and gooey. Make sure to add some cajun seasoning!

Got the haddock fish and chips. The haddock was excellent. Cooked perfectly and tasted great. I was actually thinking I was getting an amazing deal given the price but the fish is actually small comparatively so the price is on par with what others charge. Not a big fan of the vinegar coleslaw. Fries are pretty good. I would definitely go back if I wanted a smaller portion, which at times I would. I will go back to try other items on the menu. The ppl working there are very nice and friendly.

Good Afternoon Henry, great mom and pop lil shop, lovely poutine, its to do die for. The cajun seasoning really conpleted my experience.

On a positive note, I liked the taste of the food. Fish was cooked well but not perfect.size was small as compared. Improvement area is cleanliness in the cooking area.doesn't look very presentable and organized

Honestly BEST Poutine you can get for its price! I’ve been coming here since 2006 and quality has stayed the same as before. 10/10

Decently sized and priced menu.
We ordered 3 different fish and chips. The fish was cooked well. The fries were ok.
Overall we were satisfied with the visit and will be back to try some other menu items and then possibly increase the rating to 5 stars.

If you’re looking for Fish and Chips and you happen to be near central Mississauga, then you should check out Henry’s Fish & Chips. They are probably the best deal for Fish and Chips around. And as you can see, they don’t skimp on the portions. A portion of either Haddock or Cod and chips is less than $9 with taxes. Their lunch special of Basa, chips and a pop is less than $6 before taxes. Check them out, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

I am a student in twss, and maybe once every week, I'd go to Henrys for their delicious poutine. The staff there were very friendly as well, i love this place XD

Cod and chips were excellent. I would 10/10 recommend paying the $2 to upgrade the fries to a poutine. It is definitely worth every penny. Also don't forget to add the cajun seasoning onto the fries, makes it taste super delicious.
