I came here today because i wanna cancel my membership. They told me they can’t do it because it’s weekends. They can only do it on weekdays. Then next Monday i showed up, unfortunately they told me this location thy are unable to it.

Enjoying working out at LA Fitness Markham, great facility with excellent exercise equipments. It has all kinds of class scheduled through out the day to accommodate people’s different needs and schedules. I myself is a Zumba-maniac and particularly enjoyed instructor Betty’s Zumba class. The class is full of energy and she got great mix of songs/dances. Love Betty, love LA Fitness Markham.

LA FITNESS is a good place to start to do your workout. This location has all the facilities and classes scheduled at our convenience choyce. Betty's Classes have clawed but it is handling it. She is very Professional and Knowledgeable Instructor. I love her style and felt motivated by her positive attitude, lots of energy, funny, and sharing happiness with all of us. Probably the dirtiest of all LA gyms in the GTA. Members have no respect for your personal space and belongings. There is no organization for class sign ups, and people will move your things and take your place. Instructors and trainers will allow it.

Very kind staff, helped me out with a week membership access as I was visiting from Los Angeles. Thanks guys!

I don't spend a lot of time in Markham, or York Region overall, but whenever I do plan on being in the regional location, I always visit LA fitness on Woodbine. Clean, and friendly environment.

Visited LA Fitness Markham today for the first time. The gym exceeded my expectations with their exceptional service and facilities. I want to give a special shoutout to Evelyn and Nina for their outstanding customer service. These two individuals truly went the extra mile to make my gym sessions enjoyable and productive. They were always available to answer my questions, offer guidance on workouts, and create a welcoming atmosphere. Their friendly and helpful demeanor made a significant difference in my overall experience. If you’re looking for a gym that not only provides excellent facilities but also exceptional customer service, I highly recommend LA Fitness Markham.

I have tried several spin classes everywhere but there was nothing compared to Henry’s Sunday class at this location. It was not surprising that his class always had full attendance so much so that ppl were reserving bikes in advance so as not to lose their spot. There was no turning back after I did my first class with Henry. Everything was so perfect from the instruction to the well chosen playlist that it has now motivated me to attend every Sunday. Henry comes across as a very friendly person with a great sense of humour making everyone feel welcome. He comes well prepared for his class and his playlist is an interesting mix of fast paced and slow grinding uphill climb, low intensity to relax and fat burning. His music is all about the beat which makes it so much more enjoyable and makes you forget your stress. Once the music starts the class has such an energetic vibe with Henry’s encouraging us not to give up and communicating in different cues throughout the session. I am in a totally different world then with Henry and the group, climbing hills and mountains, sailing past meadows, such a great feeling and a great way to start your day. If u haven’t done Henry’s class then do give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.

Awesome facility, especially for individuals who arrive from out of town to catch a quick workout. Geo was very helpful with the setup process.

Although I don’t usually go to LA Fitness, Geo was super accommodating to my boyfriend and I when we came. I definitely recommend coming to this gym.

Great location! Has a large floor space with some unique cardio equipment. Very popular after 5pm still has space. Ball court is nice. Each men's and women's changeroom have their own hot tub. Trainers are very attentive and seem engaged more so than I have seen. Cleaners do their best, and do care. Overall I have noticed a significant positive change in last few months, management clearly listening to members and doing better!

Overly crowded. No weights available and a line up for each equipment. A total waste of time.

Please stay away from these scammers specially from the lady called ALANA she promised me $55 a month to sign up with no extra charges, as soon as I signed up literally the next day I couldn’t enter the gym cuz I had to pay $99 initiation fees I tried to consult her but failed she just ignored me as if she didn’t know me at all. I just paid the $99 to just move on and didn’t have the time to argue after two weeks I again couldn’t enter the gym this time I had to pay annual fee of $59+ I don’t really remember again I tried to find ALANA to ask her why am I being charged like this but no success she were just hiding behind the entry desk at her office despite clearly seeing me arguing with the front desk please stay away or make them sign and write what they promise specially ALANA

The facilities were great and the staff especially Phay was very helpful in setting me up at the gym. There were a lot of fantastic machines to use, more than other gyms I've been to.

This gym get’s the job done, it has a good variety of equipment and fortunately the times I go are not too busy so I can always get in and get out. My only complaint is it’s a mission to find attachments for the cable machines, other then that, I’m very pleased with my experience working out here.

Really great place! Has basketball courts, dance studio, swimming pool, volleyball on Wednesday nights from 5pm-11pm and lots of machines and free weights. Come workout and feel great about yourself!

Memberships are cheap. But it's way too busy now. Multiple machines broken for months and the change rooms are disgusting.

Best part of coming here is to watch the drama that happens on the basketball court.

One of the best clubs in the GTA. Fantastic gym and friendly staff! The facility is very clean (should mention clubkeeper Loren who has been working extrimely hard to get those best results) and there are lots of equipment to choose from. Great job!

This gym has indoor ball courts! David the manager was super accommodating to my requests. Highly recommend folks joining the gym, if nothing else check out the courts.

The Woodbine location is smaller and less busy during the mornings. I must say this place feels like home when you see familiar faces everyday. The equipment and facilities have been kept meticulously clean thanks to Lauren and Lus. These employees get on their knees to detail clean and deserve huge raise:) Wish all the locations had a maintenance team like this!

Great customer service from Ahmed courts and the equipment were amazing, loved this gym will definitely buy memebership.

Ahmad was very helpful and had great service. We played in the basketball gym and it was a great facility.

I had never been to LA Fitness, but i had high hopes. Upon contacting the gym, I was assisted quickly and couldn't have asked for anything else. Alana was very kind and considerate and definitely deserves a raise. Great Gym for people who know what they're doing and just need reliable place to workout. 11/10

Terrible service. They are making the cancellation process way too complicated. I can not do it through online, not through phone and even not able to cancel it during weekend.

The staff is very welcoming. The facility is clean and well equipped. Many classes offered and great hours, making this a membership I can use.

I went to LA fitness today for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised with help right away when I walked in. They got me in touch with Mr. Nawid right away and he helped me get everything sorted real quick. Really appreciated his kindness and understanding. Great location with even better people running the show.

I went in today to LA fitness for the first time today to try the gym out. Mr Nawid helped me get all setup and ready to workout in such a timely manner. I had an absolute wonderful customer service experience with this guy!

Terrible customer service, I have a 1 year contract for personal training till end of November, and they extended the contract in their system without permission or acknowledge because they were closed due to lockdown
! Interesting, never chose la fitness for personal training again, it is expensive and you can not cancel it easily.

Worst customer service you will ever get from a front desk receptionist.

Be wary of signing up for a trial with the intention of wanting to sign up for a monthly or yearly membership. The sales team wont care to spend time with you. Even though you may have a printed pass, they will just tell you they can't serve you at the moment and not let you into the gym. Don't waste your time going here. They do not care about customers nor have any sense of customer service.

Other LA Fitness locations are much better even if they are further away.

This facility in Markham, Ontario was impeccable. Tahir was a gem. Very accommodating and professional. I give Tahir and this facility my highest recommendation. It’s very Covid-19 sensitive and a great place to get back to feeling normal again. Thanks again for treating my family so well!

I'm a member at this location now for 2 weeks and I'm loving it. My first interaction with the staff was with Tahir and it was super great! It was a speedy set up and a friendly chat all the way through. The gym itself is heavily equipped. And the best part for me is the sanitizer spray bottles that are handed to each member for use throughout their time at the facility.

Poor customer service and its more like a Casino, you will never know how and where you lose the money!

Stay away from this place.

Amazing gym. I was lucky enough to sort my membership out with Tahir. He is a great person and a true professional. If you are ever looking to buy a membership from LA Fitness, ask for tahir and he will get you the best membership package at the best price.

Due to the COVID-19 after the club reopened. I went to the club to do the membership cancellation on early August. At that time the club manager is not in the club. They told me the cancellation processing by manger will be on the next Monday. I don’t realized that will affect me I can’t get back my annual fee refund. (I got charged annual fee of $35+HST at the same day when I doing the cancellation.) I call many many time but cannot reach the member service department! Fortunately I got her today, who name Tori, she said she can’t do any refund for me because the cancellation is few days after billing day! I had explained the situation. She keeps saying that no way will do the refund when It is billed. The annual fee suppose is for coming year service. I had cancelled the coming year membership. Why they still force me to pay for it? I felt not fair! And she doesn’t accept any explanation from me!
I and my family won’t go back to this fitness club. And I will telling my friends to be noted about. Poor customer service and poor communication when you need!

This gym has everything you need! A very clean and amazing environment, with great staff. Big shoutout to Tahir for answering all my questions and making the registration process very easy.

Gym is super clean and has 100% of the machines, weights and equipment I need to properly execute my workouts. Matt was super helpful as well as the rest of the staff.

The gym is amazing with everything you need! Matt was great in helping out! Love the hygienic and safe protocols with regards to covid!

It's great to be back. Even with all the covid procedures, the facility is running smoothly and the staff are awesome. Their phone app to access the club is very poor and never works. Ask for a key card instead, or be prepared to struggle a little. Don't let this issue keep you from coming to this gym. Good people. In particular, I'd like to give kudos to a trainer named Dennis. He is a friendly and helpful person who kicked my butt when I needed it. Well done.

Requested Mathew the temperature was really hot inside the gym and if they could accommodate us. He said we can’t do anything about it and when told we will leave negative review. He said feel free with an attitude. Not the way to treat members!

I joined LA Fitness - Markham in July and it has been a great experience by far. The staff are very polite and friendly as well. This club is well equipped with various types of excersize machines and weights. I found that the staff are quick to attend to any service related issues in a professional and timely manner. They also have great sanitization measures in place for keeping the gym clean and safe during the current Covid crisis.

I would highly recommend joining this club if you wish to achieve your fitness goals in a welcoming and comfortable environment!

Great atmosphere and packed with equipments. There are quite a number of great group class instructors. Henry the cycling instructor is the best! The best cycling classes I’ve ever had! My only problem is that there could be more privacy in the shower. Ask for Tahir if you wanna join. He’s really nice and helpful.

As there is no phone service during the pandemic, 2 months ago, I tried to cancel my membership with their online system, it shows me that I need to print out a PDF and ship it to California USA, which I did

24-July, I tried to sent email to them and see if my cancellation letter has reached them, no reply, but after 2 days, I was informed to come to the gym in person to prove me is me. So replied them, I will not take the risk to do that, no reply from them.

10-Aug, I called them 5: 39pm, one lady told me to come in person, which I refused, and she told me I can call next day 6am-2pm, and look for the manager Greece to cancel my membership.

11-Aug, I called them 6: 15AM, one man told me there was misunderstanding between me and the lady yesterday, I have to come in person to cancel my membership, I told him that during this pandemic, this action is not good option, he did not let me speak to the manager, even I told him, I am looking for the manager, and give me another phone, number and told me to call this new number after 10am.

I was in a member in this Gym for 3 years, I never thought the cancellation is so hard, I remember Ross and Chandler have met some difficulties to cancel the gym member in Friends, but I don't know my the friends in this gym makes the cancellation so hard, why the lady did not give me the cancellation number in 10-Aug when I called them first time.

I will definitely talk with some department accordingly about this situation.

The customer service at this LA Fitness is absolutely horrible. To make things worst the equipment is old and rusty. The workout area as well as the changeroom is always a mess and seems very unsanitary (especially concerning during the covid Pandemic). I have been a member at the since 2016 and am now considering switching gyms. The woman at the front desk is rude and disrespectful and has ruined my experience with LA Fitness.

They really dropped the ball after COVID. They dont' have a booking system so I had to wait in line (30 minute wait) to get a bottle to clean up after my self. How do you know if anyone actually properly clean and sanitize the facility? On top of that closing at 8 of clock? Cancelled my membership and joined good life.

Tahir has been professional throughout my sign-up process. He has answered all of my questions and provided all the guidelines for the facility with the current environment.

Like how the other poster mentioned - not easy to cancel membership. Very dishonest and questionable integrity. My wife and myself went to cancel membership first day they re-opened (July 24) due to COVID19. We were told it was done and we just wait for the confirmation e-mail within 48hrs. It was based on trust and no receipts were given. Sure enough, we recently got charged for another month. The claim was the cancellation was done on the 28th - 1 day after our billing date (27th). We clearly did the cancellation on the 24th!

Called on Aug 18,2020 to cancel membership. Sep 13,2020 found out it was never cancelled. Called again and was told it needs to be cancelled "in person". Ridiculous in my opinion. I do not recommend this gym.

After I signed up for the member, there's someone called me everyday to sale classes. Even I told him I was not in Canada, he said call me later. I felt so badly, I signed up membership just for the dancing class. From that time, I have not been to La fitness anymore. But Evey month still pay for the membership fee. One day, one of them continue to call me and I requested to Frozen my account. Still charge $10+ tax per months. I just called and requested to cancel my membership, they told me that I need to drop in between Monday to Friday 9：00 am-5：00pm（which I need to work）or I can download the form and mail to LAX. This is not friendly.

Although the gym is decent, 100% not worth it for the price and services. 1) Be aware that there is a $100 activation fee, and monthly fee to freeze your membership 2) Although there are a lot of facilities, they are often unavailable for long periods due to fixes being needed 3) Little to no wifi connection in much of the gym 4) Gyms like Fit4less are much better for the amount you pay

I went in to cancel my membership and was told to come back between 6am and 2pm, which is a very inconvenient time when you are working. I was told the other way to cancel would be to mail in a form to the California office.

Next day I call in another location for La Fitness (the Aurora one) and they were able to cancel my membership within a minute over the phone.

This LA fitness facility is nice, but these sort of tactics used by this branch to retain clients is why I am giving it a low rating. Hopefully they try to be more open and honest about their policies in the future.

You have to cancel your membership with a very different way, you will be passing from one to another, ask them the number of membership management, so they will give you a number with 647-, call this number, and press 4, you will be verified with a rep, then you will get a cancellation email in 2 hours.

Don't send any mail to any physical address, they just try to make the cancellation longer than you ever expected.

One of the terrible gyms I have ever been. Never go there please, it is a waste of money, they charge you hundreds of dollars every month with different excuses and the service you get in the gym is much less than you expect. Swimming pool is super dirty.

Great fitness club and great customer service, I had a pleasure of singing up with Amir who was super helpful and answered all my questions.
