LA Fitness

I will begin adding photos soon, but this gym is need of a lot of tlc. I am in the catchment so stuck with options. But I would say that of all la fitness gym, this one is an actual not the best option. Not only is it just completely dirty in every corner, equipment is absolutely not clean and mostly broken, for both short and long term periods but also the bathrooms are very dirty. Feel free to let your kids to join. Personal trainers are also very disruptive, so not only do they leave equipment all over the gym unracked but they are also unhelpful. 2023

Front desk staff are always rude and condescending, there’s always a male janitor in the ladies change room? By far the worst LA fitness I’ve been to.

When he learned about the situation in my country, Ian extended a compassionate gesture by offering me a one-month free membership. This act of kindness not only provided me with a safe haven for physical well-being but also showed the human and caring side of LA Fitness.

The gym itself is a testament to excellence. With its pristine facilities, a wide array of modern equipment, and an environment that promotes health and wellness, LA Fitness stands out as a premier fitness destination. The gym's atmosphere is both professional and nurturing, making it easy to engage in a fitness routine even amidst personal turmoil.

Moreover, the staff's dedication to their members' experiences is evident in every interaction. They create an environment that is not just about physical fitness, but also about building a supportive community. This was particularly evident in how they rallied around me during a difficult period, offering support far beyond what I could have expected.

In conclusion, my time at LA Fitness was more than just a journey towards physical health; it was a period of healing and support thanks to the incredible staff, especially Ian. I wholeheartedly recommend LA Fitness to anyone looking for a gym that cares deeply about its members and provides top-notch facilities. The worst gym i have tried ever, in the pool had injury bandage stick to my foot and once noticed it, give me bad feeling and took it out at pool corner, the jaccuzi is not warm and water is not sprayed with enough pressure also thr Jaccuzi was full of sand and roast, IF YOU WANNA BECOME MORE SICK I SUGGEST YOU GOING TO THIS GYM.

The staff was extremely pushy and seems desperate for new members (After reading all the comments, I think I know why). It made me feel so uncomfortable to join, having come from a Fit4Less gym from another neighborhood. We toured the gym and wanted to know the memberships plans, but instead the staff talked non-stop about their current promotion and how good it was and how if we leave we won't get it again, even though we expressed a desire to not make a decision right away. Another guy who claims to be the manager jumped in and tried to guilt-trip us about why we MUST come to the gym at least 2 times a week to see results and health benefits, yada yada. I thought I was joining a cult.

The gym equipment did seem good and there were quite a lot of people on a Sunday afternoon, but for a price of $45/month and initiation fees and numerous other charges, I deserve to feel more relaxed and comfortable about my work-out decisions.

(update 2023) the staff here is not what is use to be and the manager is so void of emotion it's like shes a robot

Personal trainers do not fulfill their duties in full. Management and trainers have a different training philosophy which causes contention and apathy.

No one follows-up on progress made. You pay for a workout buddy, not a trainer.

Trainer’s hours are constantly changing and I’ve experienced an unprofessional hand-off between trainers when they’re unavailable.

Staff can be exceptionally rude

I’ve experienced better service at other clubs.

Filthy, crowded, disordered. Male change room always reeks a disgusting smell, especially near the washroom area. Always fully packed in weekdays with lots of noisy teenage boys. Very hard to find anything because nobody stock the weights after use.

This gym is very big and it's a perfect gym. The gyma has a pool with sauna and Jacuzzi, It has 3 tennis rooms, a basketball court/gymnasium, a tutor area, a yoga/boxing room, etc. On the first floor it has treadmills, pedals, and other foot exercises. On the second floor is the weight lifting where it has so many different options of weight lifting.

Dirty facility; however, I can't expect much because most commercial gyms are borderline unsanitary. Often, a handful of machines are broken and seemingly don't get addressed. Despite these issues, this gym has two redeeming qualities: the functioning sauna and Daniel P, the inspiring, world-class spin class instructor.

Yes, I admit I sneeked into L. A Fitness on Saturday morning with our any challenge. Free workout! I will say this, that there was NO AC YES! NO AIR CONDITIONER AT THIS LOCATION.

I’ve been a member since the gym opened. It hasn’t had the best reputation in the past, but I must say that over the past couple months, it has been looking MUCH cleaner and the attention to things like paper towel and hand sanitizers being refilled are at the best they have been. Whoever the OM is, good job!

Such poor staff took ages to cancel a membership and gave false information when giving the membership overall awful experience wouldn’t recommend anyone coming to this gym save your money and go somewhere else.

Today i went to la fitness in Vaughan and i was welcomed by a warm-hearted and extremely approachable trainer/manager. His name was amir irani. Initially i went there to have my physical fitness appraisal and after having a thorough session, i became determined to go there. Amir is extremely well-versed in his field and has prepossessing smiles. I highly recommend this gym because of his presence

I have nothing but great things to say about this location! The environment is friendly, clean and welcoming! The staff are grounded and are genuinely wonderful people! The managers are kind and understanding people who, even when getting yelled at by rude clients kept their cool and deescalated the situation with compassion!

I went there and this furry Italian kept screaming something about "they're only 13 percent! But they do 50 percent! " or something like that. It really motivated me to finish my workout so I could GTFO before I was harmed

I normally train in mississauga, Brampton or the junction locations. By far this was the worst LA fitness I've ever trained at. Members are on the cables for hours on end, not multiple be just one member, way too many children on one machine. What usually takes me approximately an hour took me closer to 2 to complete.

Still disappointing.
Covid rules are lacks and jugs walk freely without masks on.guess I'll be cancelling my membership.

All I can say is that this place has changed me for the better. Omid and Erfan, in particular, are fantastic trainers. They have assisted me, pushed me, and motivated me to become the best version of myself, in two months I've noticed significant changes in my physique and strength. And I'm grateful to have them by my side as I try to become a better version of myself.

Love LA Fitness Vaughan but…. How long does it take for this to accumulate?

Super nice facility with great people and great vibe.used to hate going to the gym but now love it because of how great the gym is.staff are great and always have an amazing attitude. Rav has always been amazing.thank you to the LA fitness staff!

Worked out at other gyms for over a decade and with Covid was hesitant to come back. However, this LA Fitness does an incredible job given the circumstances. 10/10 for cleanliness and sanitation. The gym has different rules implemented but everyone does their part. For the best workout avoid peak times.

Great place! Management was great. Ravi the general manager keeps the gym clean and everything in line. Great place to go.

Ravi was great to work with. We got a tour of the gym and the information we needed for a membership. Good staff!

If you go here make sure you go to Rav, he’s definitely the best, very polite and professional and provides the best service. He encouraged me to recommend more friends to sign up for this location.

The most lier staff and rude manager, this location charged me for more than 6 months without any emails or phone calls, after I cancelled my program, and now I went there to talk to the manager Vanessa, she was busy and didn’t talk to me, and then I called them more than10 times to reach her, but she never call me back.

Clean gym and helpful staff, equipment in good conditions, ian helped set my account and their membership price is reasonable too

The gym is close to my home, and it’s great and all but it concerns me that they don’t check your vaccinations. I registered online, meaning they didn’t check my vaccines during the registration process, nor did they check after scanning my membership upon entrance.

I think it would be good if they asked members to show their vaccines, put it in the system, so that the staff are aware that they’re vaccinated every time they scan their membership barcode. If an individual did not have their vaccines due to health reasons, then they can take note of that too. Given how restaurants check for vaccines, it concerns me that a gym, where majority of members walk around with their masks off, would be allowed to enter. They have a rule where you can take your mask off when you exercise, but must put it back on when you walk around. But no one’s really doing that haha

I also think the members here do an awful job putting equipment back to its original place. I used to attend my University’s fitness centre for the past five years and everyone put their stuff away and sprayed it down after every use. And this was before COVID! I’ve been to LA Fitness since I was in high school and it’s kind of disappointing that people aren’t responsible with their own cleanup. If university students can do it, you can do it too. And it sucks for the staff because it’d be difficult for them to enforce this to every single member.

Just checked out La Fitness the Vaughan location, Diego went out of his way to help me out with my membership. Great service I would recommend anyone who wants the best service to ask for him at the front desk!

Great location, caring management, Ravi is one of them who is very professional and has an excellent costumer services, very polite and flexible. Also the location has Sauna, Jacuzzi, pool and good air circulation

Super friendly staff, great clean equipment. I am a member of LA fitness in MD with the passport membership and was looking for a LA fitness club in Vaughan to work out for a week. Staff was super accommodating. Go see Rav at the front desk. Highly recommended

False personal training promises, trainers are good and knowledgeable, but management makes false promises about each training session length to sign you up for personal training. They dont even know you after you signup, they make you feel like king to sign you up and then nobody cares for you

Unfortunately I could not add a new review so have to edit old one, EDITED DATE IS 22nd of September 2021 when the new Discrimination Vaccine certificates went live. SO FOR EVERYONE WHO IS NOT VACCINATED, DO NOT BE STUPID and cancel membership with a request of full amount of charge, as 1: LA FITNESS did not send any kind of emails with explanation what you want to do with a membership due to CLOWNVID 19 certificates, they should give everyone an option to cancel it before the charge or if you do not want to cancel you have to bring the proof of vaccinated certificate.

The managers are not professional but try to sweet talk people into giving good reviews, won’t be returning.

I recently signed up with LA Fitness, and I am quite impressed with the quality of the equipment they have compared to Goodlife. Due to the current restrictions in the city, things are not going to be exactly as we wanted/expected; so it's important to understand these obstacles now and try to tolerate each other. The General manager (Scott) has been quite accommodating, respectful and friendly. I believe it's a matter of time, and things will go back to normal and we would not have to complain again about not being able to get a reservation etc. LA Fitness, need to get more facilities closer or inside the urban areas to attract more customers/clients. Staying in the remote areas makes it challenging for many people to sign up and so, people tend to stick with Goodlife and their poor services and equipment.

At Vaughan location, Bad management, and facility unclean, vary much bullying as well

Because you're not assigned to a trainer they will pick on you and provoke until you leave

Great gym! I was very saddened that my local gym closed down due to covid. Switching to LA however has been one of the better parts of 2020 for me. Great gym, amazing and fun staff and they also deal with covid protocols in a professional manner. Can't wait to go to this gym when it is running normally and have access to all the amazing amenities.

No answer to phones. Not possible to book online. Doesn't matter what time you try, the main floor is always fully booked. The only thing they want is your money.

Poor management. Specifically during this covid times it is impossible to be able to properly use the weight area. I was practically forced to freeze my account. Hopefully I could find a better place in the area to go to.

Not possible to reach on the phone. 30 min on the phone no answer. They remove phone from the phone device that nobody would bother them. I cant reach them to make appointment for gym. They doesn’t care about customers. It all start happening when Covid 19 came in. Staff just talk to each other and not doing their job properly. PS they get paid from our money

Horrible experience for the re opening, they do not have a booking system, they do not have control of the people just chatting around, while people outside is on a long line waiting so they can enter.

I was on hold for 2h 45 min no answer, kept getting my calls denied and then hung up on several times (15x) before I could even get a chance to speak.called from other phones also with different carrier entirely one is Rogers other is Bell.
I understand that due to Covid you are more busy than usual, but picking up a phone and then hanging up while I hear you talking in the background is very unprofessional. This is the only method for booking workouts.how else can I book my workout for the next day. I was calling from 8am on a Sunday (right at opening) I’m writing this review at 10: 50am after the clear frustration I went through of sitting on the phone for over 2h45m.
Also I’m still getting charged for full service which I’m not getting.many facilities are not available, I can’t even book a workout! Covid is no excuse or special exemption I’m sorry

The sales manager there is a Scott is a liar, do not believe even a single his word. I was signing an agreement for membership and he did not mention even a single world about annual fee, opposite I was promised that “there is no commitment”. When I was billed and complained about charges “of we are so sorry ”
Very dirty sales practices

I was a member from February to September 2019. The reason I joined was for the pool and aquafit classes. The classes were good and they had a good schedule. My highest issue is that the women's change room is disgustingly dirty. There r huge clumps of hair in every shower stall every day. Its the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. There is so much hair on the change room I would bring it home on my shoes. Then i gave this reason for leaving to the operations manager she told me that they can't afford to hire both a male and female attendant to start early. So they chose to hire the male attendant. Second reason for leaving is the fact that it was only 10 ppl per class. U have to go on 1.5 hrs early just to get a spot. Dont join this place. U will regret it

I was instructed that I need to send a physical letter to LA Fitness head-office in California in order to cancel my membership. I am working 9-5PM and the option to see operations manager in person (M-TH 9AM-5PM) is not available to me. My cancellation letter was not received within a month and I was charged again for next month. I have left two messages for operations manager to call me back. Today it was a third time that I have spoken to the staff and left message for the operations manager. I have no future desire to be associated with LA fitness.

Overall, it is good gym but it gets extremely crowded at evening time.

Overall not a terrible gym, there is still enough equipment and variety to have a good workout.but the downfall is gets too crowded at times an not enough squat racks, smith machines an bench presses.these items can be hard to get an can use more of those.more times then not you have to skip or improvise planned exercises that you hoped to have done.

Up next is the state of change rooms.which fluctuates from mediocre to terrible.plenty of times while getting changed your standing in a puddle of water.which is God awfull an not acceptable.never should this be happening.

Worst of all.starting off your visit at the gym upon walking in the stuck up cold front desk where there’s usually 2-3 of them
Standing at the front hanging around talking to each which really wouldn’t be so bad, except the thing is they don’t stop to even make eye contact with you let alone even say hi to you perhaps they think they are so cool. I assure you not!

This is a great gym with lots of machines. I just don’t like the interior design and the placement of treadmills. Lockers are big, curtain showers, plenty of machines especially for legs.

DON'T COME HEAR TO HAVE A PEACEFUL WORK OUT!
During my attendance on the premises for a little under an hour, I was on the ground floor.
The pounding of weights did not stop on the upper floor. Upon inquire, I was advised that this disturbance is an ongoing scenario and staff although notified does not do anything to rectify this abuse of equipment & inconsiderate attitude.

I WON'T RETURN HERE.
IT IS UNACCEPTABLE TO ME!

Be careful when signing up for training.look over the contract well so you know what your getting into.it can be a lot more money then you think.
I was pushed into a contract that was different then the salesman's pitch to me.
Happy to report that La Fitness waived the fee to cancel and helped me out in the end to rectify the situation.

Great place to have a function. Parking lot in the same building. Easy to get out of the city from its location.

Good price for what it offers. Plenty of different equipment for all kinds of training. Can get very busy at peak hours.

I love the instructors of the fitness classes such as Bodyworks and yoga. They’re energetic and friendly. This gym is big and has many equipments. Generally good and clean. Downside is that washroom is stuffy and sometimes dirty. No towels at this location.

Dirty and unorganized. LF machines and cardio machines filthy. Dumbells and free weight plates scattered all over the place. Saw staff more worried about socializing with each other rather than ensuring dumbells were placed back on the racks in their proper place. I'll work out in my hotel before ever going back to this LA Fitness.
