Lake Huron Fish & Chips

We visit Manitoulin every summer and always stop by for lunch at least two times during our vacation. We have been enjoying this place every summer since it opened. We were very sad when we heard it was closing this year, but we were so happy when we found out it was going to be open.
We have tried every menu item over the years and never had a bad experience.

The fish is always cooked to order, hot and crispy. The fries are always golden and delicious. The homemade tartar sauce is perfect. The portion sizes are very generous.

The only thing I would suggest is to add a nice coleslaw to the menu.

We had great meals this summer, and look forward to seeing you next year.

Every year, when I come to Manitoulin this is my number one place I have eat before I leave! Small menu based around fish and chips. Will have different options of local fish, and a few other things for a good beach day. Short walk to water so makes for a good day or afternoon trip. Definitely recommend the white fish with spicy tartar sauce (I always get poutine on side). Good portions so you will be full and happy.

Felt the best ever after compared to all the other places I have had fish and chips. The light batter was exactly what was needed. Shared (2 people) the 2 piece whitefish and chips but substituted the chips for onion rings. They also have burgers for those in a group that don’t like fish. Good pricing.

Soooo good. Get the white fish. Grabbed it to-go, went to the beach. Fish and chips was so hot and fresh

Always a great place to eat in the summer. Try to get there when they first open or you could wait a bit in a lineup.

I found haddock better than the whitefish. Staff super nice and food good, not too heavy on the grease (well, for deep fried fish lol!).
Back a year later. Still great!

Arrived around 2pm on July 26th to find that any order would not be ready until after 3pm. Blown away. If you plan on eating at Lake Huron, call ahead. Never order so cannot comment on the food or service. Next year I will call ahead.

Nothing fancy, just good tasting fresh fish and fries. Outdoor seating only. Don't forget to see the beach when you go there

Very nice outdoors dining, very friendly staff. We always trying fish and chips at wherever we go. This one is the best! Perfect butter, very juicy fish, perfectly prepared chips. Great portions. Highly recommended

My husband & I wanted to let you know we thoroughly enjoyed the locally caught "whitefish" you suggested for our fish&chips order for lunch yesterday. The fish was a delish choice! And the fries were freshly made! Couldn't ask for a fresher fish lunch! Love the fact the fish is locally caught! Thank you very much

Some of the best fish I've had. It does take a long time to get food after ordering (which they tell you up front), so I recommend ordering and then walking the boardwalk or hanging out at the beach in the meantime.

Thus far, Lake Huron Fish and Chips has consistently served me the absolute best fish and chips. Whether you choose to have the whitefish or the haddock, one is equally as tasty as the other. And the spicy tartar sauce really completes the savoury experience.

The best fish around, bar none! We came here the first time 5 or 6 years ago and have enjoyed every experience since. The staff has always been friendly and professional, the food is always top quality and prepared perfectly. I really missed it last year, but living about 50km away and with the lockdowns we didn't make it out. However we plan on making up for that this year, we have already been twice and if I am going to eat less than healthy food, why not make it the best. Only issue I have noticed was the spicy tartar sauce seems to have changed and I'm not as much of a fan. Other than that there is nothing to complain about, keep up the great work.

On y est allé pendant notre voyage en Ontario. On avait un petit creux et c'était le seul restaurant du coin. Le restaurant n'était pas encore ouvert et il y avait déjà des gens en ligne, on était surpris! Nous avons pris le fish ans ship et une poutine et on a bien aimé, pas trop gras ou pesant c'était facile a manger:)

Worth the wait time for the food. The fish is very fresh, everything fried to perfection. The tartar sauce is clearly homemade and is amazing

Best fish and chips ever! We did take out but they have a few picnic tables on the patio. People travel a long way to enjoy their food.

Funky fish 'n chip shop with delicious fare! So good we went twice during our week on the island. Got the classic white fish and fries, then the haddock with onion rings. Even the burger was juicy and do flavourful.

At peak times, there will likely be a wait. We waited 40 minutes the first time. Not a problem for us though as we weren't in a rush.just went down for a scenic stroll along providence beach while we waited!

They have a great large patio with tons of seating, and play fun music. The staff are all passionate and clearly enjoy their gig. Awesome place!

Wish you has the local fish available. Understand it was after a long weekend but this was something I had looked forward to for some time so disappointing to not get some fresh out of the lake fish. The fish we did have was good and the fries were great. You also ran out of cheese which was odd.

This place was good a few years ago. Not any more in my opinion. It takes way too long to get your food. The portions have gotten much smaller for the Fish also. The food tastes alright but it's the only fish and chip place in Providence Bay so. Also some questionable staff there now compared to years ago. I would have given it 4 stars a few years back. Not now.

Fish to chips ratio could be better, ammirite. I mean, come on - I'm here for the fish. Don't need all these chips. Chip city over here. Anyways, fish is good. Tatar sauce is a must. No fuss. No muss.

We had to wait a little bit but only because of how fresh things are so totally worth it! Fresh, light, crunchy, tasty fish and fries! And poutine was delicious too!

Always a stop for me when I am on Manitoulin Island. The portions are good and should fill you up. Fish batter is light and dish is flakey. Delicious!

Whitefish was fresh and delicious. Fries were about as good as anyone could make them. Very happy with our meals. 25 minutes wait once we ordered would bug me but it was the perfect amount of time to tour around Prov.

The fish & chips are great. The fish burger was tasty. The poutine was alright. All and all an awesome little spot.

Great quality fish and chips with thick-cut fries and homemade tarter sauce. You can't do better for the price.

Tasty fish and chips for sure. Not the best but I always go here when I'm in town. Very friendly staff, a little higher prices but it compliments the freshness of the fish. Not a long wait either, so that's a plus. I recommend this place if your in town and want some fish! The spicy tartar sauce is great too.
