I used to come here all the time in highschool and rave about it ever since. We left because there was no breakfast.but we came back another time and left with a big smile and a happy belly! Food was delish!

The ambience was welcoming … the pinball was nostalgic… the fish so thick and flakey and melt in your mouth tender, the portions amazing… chicken macaroni cheese bacon burger looked very appetizing amd I’m told it was very much so, and same with the holiday special grilled cheese… will try the table top jukebox when we return

Love coming to this place. Definitely top spot in Durham. Had the tiniest issue with the food but our server Sam was fantastic and super caring and attentive.

Good food from my experience although my latest visit left me feeling ripped off to say the least. We went out to lunch and both got the mac n cheese lunch combo the food is very good although a little rich and heavy on the stomach at times but id say 4/5 for food although at the end of the meal we got a bill with a $4 upcharge for extra cheese confused we asked the waitress and she said that was for the cheese on the garlic bread which we did not ask for and was never asked about if i had the choice i wouldn't even want the cheese on the bread as i got mac n cheese. She insisted that she asked us and we said yes and we both knew we had not as there was no mention of any upcharge and no mention of cheese on the garlic bread.she was dismissive and rude imo we paid the bill not wanting a conflict and left feeling well ripped off which is unfortunate as its a nice little spot. Having unknown charges on your bill feels very scammy whether it was an honest mistake or intentional the situation was handled poorly and who wants to have a fight with a manager over a $4 bill when your painfully full.unsure if il be back. Service is a big deal for me id rather go to a place where concerns and miscommunications are handled with some degree of care and consideration not just dismissive pay and get out.not to mention this extra cheese couldn't have amounted to more than an once or 2 and you pay 4.63 after tax.anyways I don't normally complain it might seem small but its the principle and the way it made you feel after

I have gone to this place multiple times the staff is always super great and the food is always even better. This is a great place to go when there’s a lot of people because the menu is very versatile and there are a lot of options. The vibe in here is also great so if you have any friends that enjoy throwbacks or vintage themed things, this is a great place to take them.

I came here as a kid with my parents and it was favourite restaurant of all time. Now as an adult, my husband and I started coming and I am so happy we did. The prices are phenomenal, food and drink special prices beat any restaurant in town, food is delicious (Try the salmon you won't be disappointed), and the service is always pleasant and inviting. We look forward to seeing the woman who works the bar during dinner shift. We know we are going to get amazing service. 10/10 would recommend for your next night out.

Went here last night and it was quite busy but we were sat right away and the service was amazing. I had the buttermilk fried chicken and it was literally the best meal I have ever eaten. My family all enjoyed their meals as well. Because it was a Wednesday we were given a free appetizer because we all ordered entrees. The atmosphere feels like going back in time when the world was a much better place. I will definitely be back to basically try everything on the menu!

As soon as you walk in- it is very nostalgic! Old ads, a pinball machine, Ms. Pac Man video game.the service was AMAZING and the food was just as good! I can't wait to go back!

My girlfriend from school and I meet once a month for the last 3 years for lunch at this restaurant and we have made it our place! We usually eat at 12: 30 and then talk to each other for about 4 hours before we leave. The staff never seems to mind us being there for so long and we always celebrate our birthday there as well. I just love the restaurant and the Rubin sandwich is the best food ever.

We had lunch here today, and it was fantastic! The service was wonderful and the food was even better. We enjoyed the chicken sandwich and the Mel smash burger! We will definitely be back to enjoy another family meal.

A very retro restaurant! The food took a while to arrive even though we went for lunch on a weekday. We were a larger group so maybe that's why. They have a very large menu with options for everyone. The fish and chips was good and not as oily as other places.

It is a great place to take a step back in time and enjoy the 50s & 60's decor. The food is great and the staff is always friendly. No complaints when it came to how fast our food was brought. Delicious as always. The French onion soup is amazing

From the atmosphere of a 50s/60s dinner, the 70s music or the awesome food this place is definitely worth a visit. I had the 2 person nachos. It has in house nachos, perfectly seasoned ground beef and a good 10 inch cheese pull. The jalapeños give it a smokey kick and lettuce and tomatoes cool it down. Their milkshake is a throw back to a by gone Era, it is thick and rich, full of flavor, with a pile of whipped cream on top and a cherry. If you are in Whitby or even if you're not definitely worth coming here.

Today we enjoyed a little blast from the past lol. We decided to go to Melanie Pringles and get lunch. I haven’t had their fries in a while and that’s what brought me back.

Food was yummy and came out piping hot, which I like because I know it’s been made with love. The short ribs in my poutine were amazing and were just melting little butter. As for the poutine, we’ll it was gone in “seconds”.

Get place for lunch. Plus they always have lovely service. Miss the popcorn at the front

We came in today to catch the Jays game for Bautista’s ceremony. We sat at the bar, grabbed some nachos and a couple drinks. Dani was fast, friendly and made sure everything was as we wanted. I teased her once after just making eye contact, she assumed we needed something. Now, that’s great service! The nachos were layered just as we like them. Well done, Melanie Pringles, we’ll be back.

Extremely disappointed with the service at the bar on Sunday. Very rude customer service. I stopped going 15 years here for that reason and it will be another 15 before I go again. Learn how to speak to people respectfully.

Went there on 7/30/2023, around 4: 30 p.m, not usually a busy time for restaurants, but it was busy. Ordered their "special" Mojito: $8.99 & it was 80% ice. Ordered Salmon: $20.99, the broccoli was raw & the salmon was undercooked. I ordered a another drink when my meal came: Mimosa, because it was Sunday & their Mimosa's are on sale for $5.99. My drink arrived when I finished my meal & it was NOT on sale because it was a "special" Mimosa. Nice info to have before ordering. It might be good for kids, but it is not a restaurant I would recommend for adults. Will not return.

Love it here. Usually get the clubhouse or the deconstruct lasagna. There summer homemade pasta salads are really good.too. I love the tuna pasta salad. Amazing drink menu too

This place is so dreamy. You will feel so taken care of, happy, and as though your life is a movie. I’m so grateful I found this spot.

Very upset at this point. This restaurant has been my favourite for YEARS, I eat every birthday meal here, every time I choose the place to eat out it is here. The last few days however? I have had an awful experience. I attempted to order Lunch a few days ago off uber, the order was accepted. 15 minutes later, it was cancelled. Very upsetting as I know the order had to be approved to begin with. Today, I ordered lunch. My garlic bread arrived with no bacon. Although i would normally see this as a small issue, its the issues being so close together and piling up.
