No rating, just a comment that I was reviwing this establishment and considering getting a membership, but there are so many negative comments, I have decided to look elsewhere. Thanks for the reviews as it has allowed me to make an informed decision to not join this facility.

Similar to other reviews, the locker rooms are not clean, especially for the price we pay for this gym. Greasy locker handles, very dirty floors, mildewy-smelling showers, poor air circulation.
06 September 2023 14:19
Showers and change rooms are dirty. Shower floors have stuff gucked up meaning their idea of cleaning the shower floors is probably just to rinse it with a hose which i've seen them do. They need to be cleaned more regularly with cleaners and not just rinsed (they need to be hard scurbed very important health please you need to clean the dry Sauna and shower and the steam room every day two time we see a lot dist everywhere some people when they finish exercise they going directly to dry Sunna or steam room this not healthy very important healthy people not just the money or the hour we have same problem with Good Life Fitness and YMCA the health department they didn't care about people they care about business, The day pass very expensive, The biggest mistake made by sports clubs is regarding entry for only one day. The amount is very expensive, 33 dollars per day. This amount is for those who do not have a membership, and this is very expensive. An appropriate amount must be set, 15 dollars with the tax, so that many people come to the club. This is a mistake made by this club and other clubs. Increasing entry is very expensive, especially for those who do not have membership, and this is considered a big mistake for the future of this club

Decent place but pricey.classes are included in monthly fee so thats good but if youre not using all the amenities then you are wasting your money. A huge part of the gym is women only but they dont pay more for fees so if youre typical male ok paying for women to have more than you then youre good. They took the stretching area out of a private area and placed it right in the middle of all the cardio machines.not sure why they felt the need to do that but ive stopped stretching because if it.just not as comfortable. For the above reasons I have decided to go to a less expensive gym near me.

Decreasing quality of instructors. Unable to keep high tier instructors such as Kristy S due to their lack of desire to pay instructors sufficiently. If quality yoga instructors are the reason for your signup save yourself the trouble and go on YouTube. Only able to afford elderly/low energy as the young/energetic ones look elsewhere for employment leaving mostly 65+ instructors to teach. They are decreasing their training schedules, and quality of instructors, in addition to increasing prices for enrollment. The only saving grace is the steam room which is notorious for being the weakest of the movati locations in Ottawa. In addition to all the aforementioned problems they also have a 2 hour cancellation policy so if you get into an accident or other emergency less than 2 hours before class you acquire a strike. If you acquire 2 strikes within 2 weeks you are banned from classes which is the only thing that slightly justifies the overpriced memberships. Extremely disappointing decrease in quality, will be cancelling my membership at end of month. Spend your money elsewhere in a time when cost of living is increasing.

Seems really nice. Went on a tour of the facility but they wouldn't offer me a one-day trial to really try things out. That tells me that they don't really believe in their products and that they're more interested in taking advantage of people with long-term and extremely expensive contracts. There's a reason the reviews of this location and others aren't overly positive. Unless you need your gym to be a status symbol, go to Goodlife or another more affordable option

I ordered a smoothie today and tried to use a gift card my husband gave me to pay for it. The person at the counter told me it was expired, and that they expired after 90 days. I told them that my husband wasn’t told of any such expiry date. They went to check and then returned to say that it wasn’t expired, but there wasn’t enough money on it for my drink, which was why they thought it was expired. They then proceeded (after all this!) to charge me 38 cents extra for my drink. Do these people not have any sense of good customer service? Surely after making me wait and delivering bad information they could have waived the 38 cents! Seriously bad customer service!
24 June 2023 17:03
I love this gym. Great classes. Great staff. One down side is there are a TON of snooty regulars who give side eye to plus size gym goers and/or to children. I bring my baby to the daycare there so I can work out and get side eye. People need to remember they don't own the gym. But that is not on the gym. It is the gym goers. The staff are great and the equipment is great!
08 June 2023 13:37
ADRIANNA GOYETTE is the best
She gave me excellent customer service and she took her time to finish it neatly.
20 May 2023 9:09
The staff are awful and just want your money. They don’t care about you, just your dollar. Avoid at all costs. They have loopholes all over their contract which will result in them robbing you of your money. Wouldn’t expect much more from people who inflate their muscles rather than their intelligence

Support local businesses! Find a small gym in your neighbourhood. You’ll get a better experience overall with better prices and a human experience that will leave you more satisfied than these money hungry corporate monsters ever could.
14 May 2023 21:03
Love it, my go to Movati.

Not as new or big as Merivale or Kanata but the overall experience is very good as are the staff at the club.

PS.love the towel origami (?) I have been seeing all week haha.
07 May 2023 15:33
How much longer till you fix the heating/AC in the Coed Studio?

We’ve heard the excuses. They only made sense for the first couple of weeks. Fix that thing, would you?
05 February 2023 11:02
I joined movati so I can do powerbarbell classes, yoga, Pilates, to swim and sauna- it has been great to have all this variety in my workout, in one place. Now the class that is most frequently on the schedule is hot yoga- every day of the week. Hot yoga isn’t for everyone. The variety has dwindled significantly, and all the good classes and instructors (Heidi, Sule) seem to be in orleans- too far for me. Disappointing.
17 January 2023 7:37
I had a tour with Julia Manley last Saturday and it was the best experience I’ve ever had touring a gym! She was welcoming, knowledgeable, and able to answer every question I had. I was so impressed by how friendly the front desk staff were and how clean all the facilities are. I’m so excited for my next visit!
26 December 2022 13:46
I had a wonderful experience at Movati! Tyler Tran showed me the tour and made the sign up process super convenient.
28 November 2022 21:53
I love the gym so clean. I hope they bring working hours back to what they were before Corona virus
16 November 2022 17:34
Management of gym amenities is not great. Steam room and sauna are often out of order waiting on parts which the gym doesn't seem to stock up on despite having 5 gyms in the City. These are sometimes closed for over a month at the time. *face palm* UPDATE: November 7th steam room has been out of order for 3 weeks. They went from posting when it would be fixed to no date being posted. Worst is they likely only ordered a single replacement part.
14 November 2022 4:57
I really enjoy Movati and all of their staff, and Ben is always very kind and helpful. If you are interested in Movati please ask for Ben!
28 October 2022 22:13
I’ll be going back to GoodLife. This movati l doesn’t have the best cleaning or equipment maintenance. While their customer service team is friendly and aims to greet everyone as they come and go, if there is an issue, they often don’t know what to do or can’t do anything. As for exercise classes, the scheduling is not ideal unless you’re retired. However, I do like the small classes taught by personal trainers, those are great! Also a shoutout to the great personal trainers on staff, they’re awesome
14 October 2022 16:36
Awful service. Went in to cancel my gym membership AFTER calling to get instructions on how to do that. I wa stood I had to wait 30 minutes for an account representative because none else knew how to do it. Yes there were two reps chilling behind reception but they were not “trained” to do that and told me that I could wait, come back another time, or email their general manager for compensation. Great service. Got no issues taking ur money, but when it comes to cancellation, somehow it becomes complicated.
09 October 2022 3:12
Great gym, great environment, super friendly and professional staff, MOVATI @ trainyards Thank You!
21 September 2022 6:12
MOVATI has excellent group class instructors. Paco, Mary and Valerie have helped me adapt fitness classes to accommodate a frozen shoulder. I’m thrilled to say that my shoulder is beginning to thaw… Yeay
26 May 2022 5:13
This is a fantastic gym! All the trainers and staff in particular (Amine) are super nice and respectful. The trainers take an interest in you no matter what fitness level you’re at. I really like how they give me tips and tricks to get the most out of every workout. I’ve been going for a few months and am already seeing a big change in my physique. I am definitely recommending my friends to come to Movati.
25 May 2022 15:29
I've been coming to this gym for over 4 years now and I've never seen it this bad.
The pool was filthy and literally faded out my swim suit due to the high level of chlorine in the pool, this problem persisted for a few days until they completely shut down the pool for the duration of more then a week, still hasn't been fixed.

3 out of 5 spin bikes were broken for weeks. Yoga mats in the fuel studio are coming apart yet they are still being used. The fuel section is missing so much equipment I need to modify my work outs to be able to get through them. Some days they don't even have towels to hand out.

Sad to see it in this state and might need to drive a bit further to another location in order to take full advantage of my membership.
07 May 2022 13:55
I like this gym a lot more than I thought I would. Women’s sauna works great and is nice and hot:) but sounds like the mens doesn’t. I love how there are all ages and body types exercising here and the staff are friendly. I think the membership price only makes sense if you’re going to take regular advantage of an additional feature outside of the weight room - classes, yoga, pool, steam/sauna.
07 May 2022 4:32
This is for the arrogant guy at the front desk, skinny tall dude with a diamond face, beard, and glasses. Terrible customer service. He almost make you feel like he owns the gym chain.
04 May 2022 9:42
****PLEASE READ*** Extremely disappointed with Movati's hours of operation. A Bank even has better hours than you guys! The capacity limits have been lifted, masks have been dropped and QR codes are no longer required. What is the excuse now for not putting the hours back to midnight? $15 minimum wage you don't want to pay employees to work those 2 extra hours? When The Athletic Club (Movati) first opened in Ottawa they were 24 hrs and stated because they wanted to "go green" and save the environment they went to midnight. Now open only till 10pm? Not all of us work government jobs 9-5pm, a lot of members work shift. The majority of gyms in the city are 24hrs. Plus you have Movati giving out 100s of memberships recently so you have a Royal Rumble upstairs for equipment. It's not 2003 anymore, the year is 2022.with social media, Instagram, fitness and working out has become a lot more popular, everyone and their grandma is working out now. With all these new members you need to extend the hours back how they were pre-pandemic! We need a few LA fitness locations to open up in Ottawa, maybe then you guys with smarten up
14 March 2022 17:06
For a gym that charges $80+ a month to use, you would expect the amenities to work? However since joining, the steam room and sauna have had non stop issues of being broken. I understand if sometimes things break, but for a gym of this magnitude you’d expect the urgency of trying to get it fixed as soon as possible. Instead, the sauna broke in the end of October and STILL doesn’t work and it’s 2022 now. When you complain to management or front desk, they’re response is “we will pass your feedback to our upper management team”. There is no accountability, no offering customers a free month for the inconvenience, and no sense that they even care about finding a solution. This specific gym is not worth it. Why go to a gym where half the things you pay for don’t work and staff act like they don’t care and have told me “go to another location”. Acting like these locations are close to each other (they are not), and not respecting our time.
17 February 2022 8:44
4 months and they haven’t addressed fixing the sauna - there’s a lack of care and attention to the facility by management on what members are saying. Many of the folks I know including myself have had to more than double our commute going to other locations in the city - this shouldn’t have to be the case.
20 January 2022 4:40
Pretty much pathetic service in terms of maintenance and front desk. 90 percent of the time steam and sauna both are not working so that’s really a trash and when you ask front desk they will come up with the standard response “we are working on it”. Really bad thing and deal breaker.
12 January 2022 17:56
Nice Gym, but would be nicer is they would replace all the broken machines and have a working Sauna. It's been broken for 6 weeks now. Would be great if you kept spare parts instead of always closing your amenities all the time.

Also all your machines are compatible with iPhone 6 chargers. (I think it's time to invest in new tech.

The hot tub needs to be cleaned more often also. It was so gross last night.

Also I've asked a dozen times to replace the lightbulb in the sauna (because it's too bright) nobody ever changes it.

Seems like nothing really ever gets done when you ask at this Gym compared to the other Movati's.
09 January 2022 2:26
The star rating is about accurate. It’s charging for a 5 stars gym, but it’s not more than 2-3 Stars. They started in fire and the corporation is letter his gym down.

Missing weights, rarely someone on the floor cleaning up in the gym. I expect more from Movati and all reviews say the same.
12 December 2021 14:10
Really happy with my experiences here over the past few months, especially with covid restrictions. It's a huge place so social distancing is never an issue and it's very clean. Staff are encouraging and friendly and there's a great array of equipment to give variety to your workout. *Edit* had to lower my rating. I might have to quit and find a gym with better hours of operation. I haven't been able to make it in for weeks due to my work schedule. Closed at 1900 on weekends. Come on.
13 November 2021 23:41
Few days ago my shoes got stolen from the locker room and I know its individual responsibility to keep things secured but response from the front desk was rude and I am extremely unhappy about it.
13 November 2021 15:12
Great gym, good facilities, very clean, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff and welcoming clients.
16 October 2021 4:37
The facility is great, they have great equipment. Yet to see a fight, everyone is usually chill and stays to themselves. The machines are good, they constantly clean the changerooms, showers and washrooms. Never joined any classes, but from what I saw, they seem enjoyable. My problem there is with the staff. They pick and choose who they are nice to. Some of the females at the front desk have combative attitudes. And some of the male staff members give dirty looks and have attitudes aswell.all in all it's a good gym, a little pricey but it's worth the money if you can afford it.
07 October 2021 21:18
I am very happy with this gym and I can't wait for it to reopenI come here three times a week and everyone is always extremely friendly. When I signed up for the gym, I hated going in. I found it intimidating and scary and such a burden. But Movati has done an incredible job at making us feel welcome and supported. They have done wonders for my mental and physical health by creating such a nice environment. I can't wait for them to reopen.
06 August 2021 6:26
Be careful with these thieves. They stole one month from me. I told them to cancel my membership for a certain date, and they added one more month to it. I told them to double check that, and give me back my money for that whole month that I didn't step foot on the Gym, and these scammers didn't give me my money back. Hope someone finds this useful and avoids getting tricked at this gym.
04 August 2021 0:48
Great People here, the place is very well maintained and if there ever is a problem it gets addressed right away.
17 March 2021 14:13
Nothing else to say but I’m disappointed with this club. I joined around 2 years ago and at the time of joining I was happy with what movati is Doing with their club, until they decided to remove the basketball court from this location. That’s the main reason I joined this club back in 2016, and now they’re removing it! No reason to stay at this club for 70$ a month when you just lift weights. If you’re into their classes they provide for free, then this is a good club to join otherwise go to another gym.

Relatively clean gym, with nice facilities. Before covid they offered a really great selection of classes. Yoga, spin, boxing, zumba and hiit classes. Would like more virtual classes with better quality class experience offered. Contracts are really strict so read them carefully!
28 December 2020 15:05
Not the best experience i had in movati clubs, possibly the worst in all Ottawa locations, not as clean as the other locations and had an unpleasant experience with one of the staff members, the manager never got back to me with an explanation!
29 November 2020 13:25
I am giving this a two stars because I was happy with my personal trainer.
However, prior to COVID, I just found out that Movati has been charging my husband and I Bi-weekly personal training sessions in which I NEVER agreed to have auto renewed. Between the two of us we have been charged almost $400.00 in Personal Training fees without ever receiving any services. Prior to signing my contact, I spent a lengthy period of time discussing the terms (ie.not wanting the auto renew). I even have text messages between my personal trainer and myself discussion the topic and yet this still happened. We have since cancelled our membership and have been told that we didn't meet the 30 day cancellation requirements and we are to expect an additional $200 to come off out of our bank accounts! Isn't that CRAZY!?
Very Poor Customer Service!
The only person we could discuss our concerns with was the personal trainer manager who was not available to speak to us in person. I then had to follow up with a phone calls. I do appreciate the time she took to explain to me their auto renew policy which I am very aware of and didn't want in the first place! Our conversation ended with her telling me how well she felt she served us today. Seriously. By the beginning of October we will be down $600.00 dollars for personal training. This is just robbery.
Please be careful when signing these contracts, doesn't matter how much you discuss them or what they say, management is not to be trusted and very inconsiderate considering the times we are in!
24 November 2020 20:32
Make sure to sign up with a credit card, if you use direct payment they will keep charging your account after the end of your contract. Customer support will flat out refuse to help.

17 November 2020 17:58
I was forced to go in person to stop my membership and they said I need to submit a technical support ticket to cancel. After having received a confirmation email for the cancellation, I just found out that my credit card was charged again the normal amount, but I don't even have access to the gym.
15 November 2020 7:45
Amazing place, good location and parking but when u get signed the paper with the Managers they totally forget about certain promises they made to you. How amazing is the place and the machines but PLEASE READ THE FINE PRINT IN THE CONTRACT because there is where they get you. Your contract last for a year at least and there is no way you can't change anything. The charge is gonna be the same for the full year. Until that, you have to be a member of the club. Services are really good but what I talked with the Manager and what is the reality later on, is not the same. Just verify everything before accepting the conditions. Standard contract was my first option but the Manager STRONGLY ENCOURAGED ME to get the Complete Option. 38$-2 weeks vs 52$-2 weeks with some promises that were never real including a 50$ Gift Card. Just saying, read before signing in Movati TrainYards please. Thanks for the opportunity of expressing my thoughts here.
13 November 2020 3:31
Had a great experience at Movati. For comparable prices to GoodLife you get so much more. The women’s only section was huge and so many amenities and classes. The facilities and change rooms were always spotless and had great experience with management concerning my membership due to COVID.
11 November 2020 19:28
Movati Athletic trainyards is not safe, COVID-19 measures are not followed. People are walking around the gym without masks, especially in the fuel studio. I go there daily and don't feel safe anymore. No staff was able to do anything about it.
10 November 2020 18:34
Shoutout to Amanda Davis who has been my personal trainer for almost 2 years now! Getting a PT was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. All staff are super friendly and I’ve always been extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the entire gym.
Thank you for everything you do!
30 October 2020 19:58
I am sharing this persons story because the same thing happened to me. Since September 1st Movati has taken over $1000 out of my account despite the fact I told them I want to cancel everything because I’m not comfortable being in the gym during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC.
They told me because I’ve already paid and can’t get a refund I should come in anyways. How inconsiderate! This is absolutely robbery!

Most instructors are nice but there are some meaning ones. Has been kicked out from the class because I was on time not five minutes early. Contact the club management,no apologies at all.
23 October 2020 20:40
Dear Kelly James, I am also a member and I just wanted to let you know that all the amenities are open, aside from sauna and steam room. Almost all classes are being offered and online booking has to be done 3 days in advance but spots remain open up until an hour from the start of the class. Yoga and cycle classes tend to be popular but it can still be manageable to get into class. Overall this gym is like no other and no gym offers unlimited classes, pool and spa. For that reason it is a bit more pricey but reasonably so. The staff is super friendly and helpful, I constantly see them, cleaning and monitoring that everyone respects the new mask policies. The frustration can be understandable, but what you have said is invalid. Movati is honestly a great gym and I am a proud member!
19 October 2020 17:40
I thought it was a bit of a shame that, at no point during the pandemic, no initiatives such as virtual classes or training sessions were made known. A missed opportunity, I thought, but forgivable. What earns them this one star review is the fact that, after multiple phone conversations and emails in which I explicitly communicated I am not ready to resume my gym membership, and that I do not wish to be charged fees, my visa got dinged this month. The icing on the cake: they won’t take my calls to reverse the charge, and require that membership cancellation take place in person. This just cemented my resolve not to give them my future business. I feel deeply for all businesses affected by Covid-19. However, there are other local fitness organizations that have done better to serve the community and make their offerings accessible through these extraordinary times. My support will go to them, moving forward.
30 September 2020 23:26
Awful AWFUL customer service. Emailed them over two business weeks ago and still no reply. They refuse to lower rates from their pre-Covid rate regardless of all their amenities being closed and regardless of people booking up all open classes 1-3 weeks in advance leaving no room for others to go. Wait lists on all kinds of classes and they don't offer all the classes they had before. Nearly $100/mth for half the amenities and options. BS! Then I get no answer at all from emails. I then call the club and wait on hold for ten minutes to be told by an automated message that they could not answer my call due to high call volume and to visit the club if cancelling. Unbelievable. The hoops they make you jump through just to get a little damn service. I am cancelling and do not recommend. Can definitely get equal service from places that charge much less.
22 July 2020 15:51
The gyms clean, good facilities, courteous staff, good variety of equipment and in proper working order. A cheaper price would be nice but overall it's worth it.
19 May 2020 5:00
Way too many groups blocking the fuel room at times when people come from work and want to work out. There is a room upstairs, which should be used for groups like this. Men’s toilets cannot be used due to high humidity - all the surfaces are wet. People are with their shoes on training equipment and staff is just looking but Not intervening.
07 May 2020 11:29
The staff here (OR at least this branch) is very rude and inexperienced. During my recent visit, I felt that they are very aggressive as well and unhelpful. It is also very crowded. Sometimes I have to wait for 30 mins for an equipment to be free. They oversubscribe classes. I can't wait for my contract to end to switch to another gym.
29 April 2020 22:32
My Mom who is visiting from Newfoundland was looking for a gym while she was in town for the month. She signed up for the one day free trial to test out your gym at the Trainyards location. When she arrived she was told by your team member that she could not try the gym for the one day free pass as she was not from the area. He did not give her any other options. My Mom still wanted to use the gym so he made her sign up for a month membership without letting her see the facilities first. I find it appalling that the gym would not let her test out the facilities because she was not from the area but they have no problem Taking her money and making her sign up for a membership even though she is not from the area. This service is not acceptable and I would expect more for people visiting and wanting to stay active.
27 April 2020 20:50
Happy with the gym establishment itself. Although not thrilled about the management side. I joined with my family and there was a promotion happening. We were told we’d get our promotion by Feb. 15th. That day came and went and we received nothing. I called, I emailed and still nothing.
Feel a little ripped off about that. False advertising doesn’t sit well with me.
06 April 2020 3:09
The gym is falling apart, with old machines, comparing to the movati in kanata or merivale. Equipment is really old and basic, facility is clean for sure, Orleans location is the same: (.
29 February 2020 10:37
I have been going here since its inception. What is most important to me is the cleanliness. There is a man that has been keeping the mens room clean for years and hats off to him. Ben, my sales rep this time around, is a very honest, knowledgeable and very personable young man. Says hi by name when we meet and is always clean and looking good. The two men mentioned above is what makes Movati my go to gym hands down. Thanks! (You are only getting 4 stars because of your inability to curb the pouring of water, which becomes a cesspool on the floor, in the dry sauna. There is a steam room and no need to create a petrie dish on the dry sauna floor)
02 February 2020 18:42
I will start off by saying that I bought a transferred Movati membership off of someone to attend this gym. I believe the Membeship is valid until the summer time. I also cancelled and paid out my Goodlife Membership because it wasn't offering what I really wanted, which was a pool. The Movati facilities from what I can see are far nicer than Goodlife, but there are some serious issues too.

Which brings me to my point. I go to the pool on the women's side at Trainyards (I couldn't even tell you where the other pool is as I was never given a tour of the gym. That said, I have never ventured out of the women's area (which is okay, because it is my preference, certainly not my gripe).

The women's pool has rules, but none of the rules are followed and people have got to be reminded. I am sick and tired of going to the pool (3-4 days a week) whereby no one follows the lanes. 1) There is a slow lane, medium lane and fast lane, no one follows them and then when you are there doing concurrent fast laps everyone is giving you dirty looks. 2) Women are going into the pool area without first showering. It is a mandatory rule and no one seems to follow it. The women's pool is also bloody filthy and murky for that reason. 3) There are a number of women who go into the pool wearing outside clothes. This includes tunics, leggings, yoga pants, workout gear, basketball jerseys, I have even seen Jean shorts. This is a POOL, you are to wear swim suits for a reason. This boils down to simple HYGIENE. Then you see the clothes hanging in the sauna to dry. This is a gym, not a laundry mat. This is a health hazard and can spread communicable diseases. I am not sure if the other pool is allowed to run into such disarray, but this is disgusting. I am not sure if I will continue using this location, but renewing membership when it expires? If nothing changes, then certainly not.

Movati has expressed themselves as a clean gym, and right now they are allowing people to use their pool as a bath tub and washing machine. I understand that there are some cultures that will not allowed women to be uncovered, but this is the WOMEN ONLY side, no excuses at that point.

Furthermore, the ceiling in the women's shower area has mould. I understand that it is a hot and humid place which has the pool, sauna and steam room in close proximity, but you need to get that under control.

Not impressed. Still dirty and so much personal training that there are no dedicated areas left to work out. I have something growing on my bike. Looks like it was good at one point. Super happy they finally attached the fobs to be able to purchase drinks without a wallet. Well done with that.

Ben the Sales guy is so fake with terrible sales tactics. Just because you speak in a friendly voice, doesn’t make your terrible message any better. Listen to your customers needs before you aggressively try to sell something.

I’ve been a Movati member at the Merivale location before a year ago or so. I had a great experience there, but havent heard great things about this location. I’ve since moved and wanted to try out this location, but was apprehensive. I’m someone who is very sensitive to working out/gym atmospheres etc, so I called to see if they’d be able to offer a day/weekend try-our pass. I have a gift certificate I’m thinking about using but wanted to be sure before I cashed it in.

Ben pressured me to sign up from the get go. He didn’t listen to my needs and questioned why I would even need a trial period since “Movati is standardized”. He went on and on about the new fitness area etc etc. If he’d listen to what I was saying, he’d realize that the fitness centre isn’t a factor for me because I exclusively woke out in the women’s only section.

Listen to your customers Ben. I would’ve been happy with a one day trial pass to test it out. After that, I would’ve cashed in my 4 month gift certificate! Such a shame. I think I’ll probably sell it now.

After my wife had a membership for the first 12 months of our shared parental leave for our two boys, I took it over as I was taking six months.

At first it was ok, the reservation system for getting daycare spots is fairly frustrating (you have to call the day before you need the spots at 8: 30 exactly, otherwise the service you pay to access is completely full).

I started going in August and I noticed the sewer smell in the showers right away. Then I noticed that there is often no hot water. Fast forward a few months and nothing’s been fixed. Two showers are cordoned off, so there’s almost always a wait for a shower and when you do get one, it’s usually cold and smells like a sewer. Not exactly in line with their slogan, “fitness that feels good. ”

Despite raising the issue numerous times with staff/management, they refuse to reduce the membership fees (which are among the highest in the city).

Once our membership expires in January, we’ll be taking our money elsewhere.

Side note: the two stars are for Kayla in the play centre, she’s awesome.

Terrible Customer Service! Although the facilities are nice. I purchased a one year membership at the beginning of last year in Ottawa. I had to move back home to be with an ill family member who was going to pass. They did absolutely nothing for me when I tried to cancel the membership. I even offered to pay to get out of the membership since I was no longer going to be in Ottawa. I am still currently paying for it from Vancouver! What gym does this? ! Do not get locked into a membership with this gym.

Would give 0 stars if I could, treated my wife and I horribly and the GM still hasn't even bothered to contact me. Told them I wanted out of the contract as they continued to provide me with terrible customer service and the only thing they came back with was I could transfer the membership for free to someone else. Like I would submit anyone I know to this horrible experience. Do yourself a huge favour, do not sign up with this gym and DEFINITELY do not provide them any of your financial information.
