I was first introduced to Sharan Y, 2 year ago.
She has been a real human touch to my banking experience at OCCU.

We had such a GREAT experience with Sharon Y at OCCU! She made navigating getting a new mortgage quick and painless. Such personalized attention will keep us coming back for sure!

I've worked with Carolyn T.at OCCU for the past 2 years on details of my Mom's estate. Carolyn's assistance has been invaluable to myself and our family. When we've been there in person, you know you've walked into a space where people care about you and your wellbeing. It's hard to describe exactly in words, I guess it's just more a feeling of ease there, as compared to many other financial places I needed to deal with.

I've been doing my banking business with OCCU for the past 20 years, I've been treated with consideration and respect in all my transactions. I have found all the personal to be pleasant and helpful above and beyond necessary. I could readily encourage any one who is looking for a financial institution to depend on and moving to Oshawa Community Credit Union.

And again today, the Oshawa Community Credit Union proved to me how great the experience to belong to it is. Sharan was the most recent in a long line of kindness, common sense, and helpfulness I have had with OCCU Personnel. Thanks so much OCCU!

I have been banking at OCCU for I think 30 plus years now.the service that the staff has given me though these years was sometimes over the top.when your a young man paying a mortgage raising a family and yes life got hard sometimes.you never forget who helped.thankyou Sharon Yarrow and staff.you always seemed to make things less stressful. I was contacted today by Sharan who had come across some strange activity on one of my accounts. I had inadvertently made a credit card payment using my line of credit. Without her attention to detail I probably would never have noticed. Thanks Sharan!

Had a very disturbing experience with OCU.they tried to pull my credit rating and couldnt get one.so instead of talking to me normally. John basically attacked me on the phone.demanding that i supply them with proof that i have a credit score.yet my account shows credit card oayments.loans to GM Canada.instead of speaking to me with the intention of resolving the issue he restricted all my accounts. I went to one of my creditors who had no issue pulling a credit score and report.so instead of giving me the benefit of the doubt he decided to go of the offensive.
Dont get me wrong there are alot of great people working there yet i felt being attacked wasnt the way to go about resolving this.
So i closed all my accounts and moved them to Royal.who had no issue pulling my credit score.

Credit Unoins are obviously not the way to go if you wish to get proper service and not attacked.

A shame actually as i really enjoyed the services prior to this.

Phone app to make cheque deposits is very user friendly. Logging in on website to access account information & finding current GIC rates is very easy, followed by excellent phone service from Carol for an investment change. Keep up the good work!

The service here is always A+ Both of my sons opened their very first accounts here a few years ago. They really try to involve the kids and promote their efforts to save and excel, with incentives like Good Grades and they even sent a birthday greeting to my son in the mail!

I’m currently working at the OCCU as a co-op student for the next couple of months. While I’ve already learned so much from the very knowledgeable people here, I’ve also paid close attention to how the customers feel banking here. I fully believe that the personal touch OCCU gives to each and every member makes everyone’s banking experience much less stressful and a lot easier. I’m looking forward to opening an account here myself, and would definitely recommend OCCU to anyone else looking for a stress-free, interactive banking experience.

We have dealt with this Credit Union since it was across the street in a house. The staff has always been helpful and friendly. If you.have a problem they will seek a solution for you. Why would you bank any where else!

My mother banked at the Credit Union for many, many years. After she passed away last year, I began working with the Credit Union as we wrapped up her financial affairs.

Upon entering the building, the first striking thing I noticed was the fact that all the staff knew my mother by name and expressed sincere grief over her passing. In fact, before I even met them, Carolyn had already posted a note of condolence on my mother's memorial page. It was clear they thought of my mother as more than a "number" in their books. That level of friendliness and personal service was extended to me immediately by all the staff.

The next thing I noticed about the Credit Union was the competence with which they did their jobs. They all (especially Carolyn, since I dealt with her most of the time) demonstrated patience as they helped me navigate the various tasks of my mother's estate. The advice Carolyn gave proved to be accurate as I then had to go out to deal with other banking institutions. Of those other banks, I would have to say the Oshawa Community Credit Union led them all in customer service and I offer the OCCU a heartfelt "thank you".

Had a mortgage with this bank and also investments. Best people to deal with. Fast and friendly. The get the job done right first time.

I have dealt with the credit union since I was a teenager. When I retired
from GM I went to Carolyn for advice on how to take my retirement money.
She took my money moved it into different accounts to protect it. I’m glad I did I myself would never have been able to figure it out. She will contact me if I need to move some money into something different. I’m very happy she has my back so I don’t have worry about my investments.

She also looks after my mother’s accounts which is a blessing she will call and tell mom that she is going to make a move on her accounts. It’s awesome she takes the time to explain everything to mom so she can understand what’s going on.

We are both very happy that Carolyn takes the time to personally contact us especially during this time of pandemic.

I have always found the staff friendly and helpful. They set up investments based on my personal needs and preferences and walked me through online banking when the pandemic shut everything down. I have never felt I couldn't ask a question and have it answered promptly and clearly.

OCCU has treated me superb for over 35 years. All the staff are well trained and provide excellent service. AND UNLIKE THE BIG BANKS, they actually ANSWER THE PHONE. Love them.
