LOVE this store, have been a customer for over 2yrs now. Super fast shipping and best price for Royal Canin I've found. All the bags were fresh too, not one remotely near expiry. Thank you so much!

I find some food and dog treats cheaper than anywhere else including Ren's pets. My go to Canadian pet store with excellent employees.

Huge place and the dog food that we use is about $14 cheaper for a 30 kg bag. We'll go back

I like everything almost this is not my favourite they can add a few more spices, also I would advise them to make more picsite the skinny noodle, also do you have my veggies and me will be more excitable.

Pet Max manager and staff refused to assist with order being held at Fed-ex warehouse through no fault of mine because according to Pet Max, they "are a store" and have no control over courier deliveries. Fed-ex advised that Pet Max had more control over the shipment than they do and referred me back to Pet Max to remedy. After one solid week of twice-daily phone calls from Fed-ex asking me to re-confirm the same address that they had been delivering Pet Max product to over the previous 12-months, promising next day delivery, and then rescheduling it daily, I phoned my credit card company to request a refund of the purchase price. I am neither a store nor a courier company and highly recommend that Pet Max and staff receive training in customer service they are so clearly lacking. I would have given Pet Max a "zero" rating but lower rating is not offered.

I used to order my dog food from Petsmart, Petvalue or Amazon, depending who had it in stock at the time of ordering. My dog is on Purina Pro Plan for sensitive stomach. 9 out of 10 times when I tried to order it, the big stores were either out of stock or they failed to fulfill the order on time. I found Pet Max and I was just surprised with their speedy response & delivery! This will be my place to order from now on!

We shop regularly at Pet Max for dog food, toys, treats etc.and have always had a positive experience so we figured we would try out their grooming services - terrible decision. Our dog is typically very comfortable with groomers however when we arrived to pick him up this time he seemed unusually anxious. It wasn’t until we got home that we realized that two of his paws were bleeding pretty bad. When we took a closer look we saw that four of his nail quicks had been clipped really short causing them to bleed (2 nails on 2 different paws). We had to clean and wrap his paws because they wouldn’t stop bleeding. Even hours later they continued to bleed leaving marks of the floors and furniture… when I called Pet Max to tell them what had happened they didn’t seem to care very much saying it was “normal” and that the groomer likely didn’t notice. There is absolutely no way that our dog did not react to having his nail quicks clipped that short so it is extremely hard to believe that they did not know this happened. Nothing was said to us when we picked him up either! We have taken our dog to several different groomers and this has NEVER happened. Even other groomers would have used quick-stop to cut off the blood, but they didn’t mention anything about it.
I would caution all pet owners and would NOT recommend taking your dog here.

Decent prices. Excellent staff. I take my dog there to get her nails done and the staff is always friendly and very good with my girl. She loves the treat after her nail trim. Highly recommend this store.

I love going to pet max. Theyre very spacious and well maintain. Everything is easy to look for. I usually go there for dog treats. Theyre quite reasonable. I can get a treat at around 4$ and up. Staffs are helpful and kind.

It's our go to store for my dog's food. The staff are great. We book our dog for a nail trim and it's only $10.

Hamilton Petmax has provided me with very fast online delivery and great service. I live in eastern Ontario and received my order from them the very next day with exactly what I ordered. One time, a small error was in my order, (to err is human-ha!), anyways, I notified them, and it was corrected the next day. This is how a business should be operated and I highly recommend them.

Dealing with PetMax for the past year+ has been an exceptional experience. They have an excellent selection of products at very competitive prices. Delivery to my home in Beaverton has been fast and efficient and products always arrive in pristine condition. The very few returns I’ve had have been hassle free and only due to the difficulty of fitting my beagle into a harness he can’t escape from, and nothing to do with the quality of the products themselves. On the rare occasion I’ve had a question, their customer service team have answered promptly and with all the information I need. I will continue to order the vast majority of my pet products from PetMax for the foreseeable future, and I highly recommend them to other pet owners.

Do not and I repeat do not use there grooming services. I took my little dog there July 5 and gave very specific instructions and told her not to touch his head and to only hand scissor the area to trim the fly aways. I came to pick him up and she buzzed his entire body including his head which I said not to! He is a pomeranian he is supposed to have a fluffy head and she buzzed it down short and buzzed his ears and there super uneven. I don't think she even used a pair of scissors. When I picked him up I even looked at her and said ohh what happened this is not what I asked you to do and she just stared at me with a silly look on her face, he had a Hugh patch of fly aways on his neck so I asked her to fix and she aggressively moves his head down and buzzs again. This groomer has no clue what she is doing my dog still has fly away patches all over his body and I paid 75 dollars and she didn't even take her time to clean him up nicely.what they charged me is not what I paid for. Please hire a new groomer this one is not good at all and just stares like she has no clue when you talk to her.your cashiers are nice though.

The employee's here working at Pet Max are friendly and helpful, the best! I just had my kitty cat "Baby" groomed with Cathy and she was sweet as can be. Baby"s grooming was great, job well done. Baby will be back in the future for another grooming. Thanks

My son booked his medium long haired cat in for clipping. Was quoted between $60-70. Cat was shaved badly and come time for paying was over $90. First and last time going there.

Excellent! Ordered 2 large bags of my dogs food on a Thursday morning, it was packaged and shipped within 2 hours and I had it delivered (rural Ottawa) by lunch the next day! That's pretty amazing.
Great selection of brands. Wish we had a Pet Max in our area but grateful they are so great with shipping.

First time shopping at this pet store lots of options would prefer more high and food available lightly baked versus hard kibble. But the staff was awesome super helpful and lots of choices for dog toys.

They have a great selection of everything you could need for your pet and at great prices. A family owned business with just 2 locations so nice to support local!

I find them very professional. My orders always come right away and packed so perfectly so cans of food are not falling out. Very friendly. I am so glad they were recommended to me They also have very good sales that save me money with a multi cat household.

I was recommended PetMax as an alternative following a few unimpressive experiences with PetSmart, and having stock problems at local chains for the brand of food I was looking for (Mondou, Centre de Nature, Global Pet Foods). My friend told me of this family-owned, Canadian business and I really wanted to find a dependable supplier for Nutrience.

I am very satisfied to say that the experience has exceeded expectations. My package arrives not only incredibly promptly (2 business days? !), it also arrives properly packed even if my order had more than a few loose cans. The price is competitive, and although it can't be compared to on sale pricing at local chains here, I don't mind because I know I am supporting a local business. The website also works smoothly and payment is processed seamlessly with ShopPay.

I have also referred other friends who tell me the pet food is much cheaper than places here so I think you've won a bunch of us over PetMax:)

Horrible customer service we walked into the empty store very curious, never been there before and there were two young girls behind the counter with their faces down on their phones. We walked around trying to find anything puppy related. We mist have been there a total of 10mins and not once did they poke their heads up to come help us. We are very disappointed as that was our first choice to buy food for our new puppy. They just lost a customer for the next 10+ years.

Great place with quite a good selection of foods for all sorts of critters at excellent prices. Kind of our of the way for folks downtown but if you are out in the South Mountain area this is a great place to stop in. They are doing in store shopping again and I was able to pick up a big bag of cat food plus treats for probably about $10 less than I would usually pay for the exact same food.

I shop here because the prices are cheaper. However, I find the majority of the staff to be stand-off-ish and bordering on rude. If I could justify paying the higher prices, I would go elsewhere just to have a more pleasant experience. If you want the best price, PetMax is great. If you are looking for pleasant staff, try Global Pet Foods at Fennell & Upper Gage.

MICE!
I have found mice chewed holes in the bag of dog food I bought. After returning back a few more times I have found many more on their shelves and visable mouse poison, mouse traps (one with a mouse in it), and mice feces down most isles. I thought it was a problem like many stores have but I seen it like this for months (no care in resolving the toxic issue). I am not pleased of buying their food, who knows if one is still in a bag or its feces. And the smell it easily noticable even with a mask. Disgusting as the fumes from it can cause HPS disease.
Let's not forget about the rude service as well.
Staying truthful, they do have very low prices.
I will update if I see any progress with mice infestation.
