UPDATE! These people are awful! I will never bring my puppy there ever again! NEVER! I regret ever saying anything nice about them!? They take advantage of good customers!

Left my dog at the hotel for a few days, upon picking him up I witnessed a staff member in the play room yelling at the dogs and spraying them with a water bottle. I emailed the store about this disgusting interaction and they confirmed that they train their staff to spray the dogs. I never gave consent nor do their docs state they will use this abusive and unproductive method when dogs are simply playing. My dog had anxiety when I picked him up and now I have no way of knowing if it was from seperation or from mistreatment. Regardless, I will be sharing this story and emails everywhere possible as people deserve to know that their animals will be mistreated at this facility.

Friendly environment. Good place for different things needed for your pet. Can be pricey so price checking wouldn't be a bad idea!

The woman on the phone wasn’t very helpful, seemed annoyed. She told me to check their website. We ended up finding a different website and ordered everything we needed from them.

The dog trainer, Amber, is in a word, wow. A natural with any animal handed to her. Expecting to learn lots in our intermediate class!

I'm super keen to see our puppy settle into some calculus amongst other things. Nothing looks impossible!

The last 2 hamsters I bought from here were both sick and died incredibly young (9 months, 4 months).

Larger store. We had difficulty finding something for our and asked one of the CSR which was very knowledgeable and actually walked us to the right place and handed out what we were looking for

The staff in the small live animal section are always extremely helpfull and knowledgeable. They always have a decent selection of everything we need

My dog had his grooming there last week and I was pleasantly surprised with the love and care shown by the staff. Greatly appreciate the job well done and will go back again for sure.

We don't have pets but like to check out the birds and fish here. We bumped into a dog training session at the back of the store. Love meeting people and their dogs! The place is for the most part well stocked. The doggie care center was interesting to watch! Busy place most days but it might be because every other family in Ottawa owns a pet!

They always have what I'm looking for. I go when I'm done work so it's usually close to the end of their day so it's never too busy. The cashier is super friendly when I go as well. I always look at the cats for adoption and instantly want to take them all home with me. Great place to go for my kitty cat's needs.

Good place for pet supplies. Great for dogs and dog grooming. They can put a bit more emphasis on kitty stuff and fishy stuff.

I will NEVER buy fish here again. I am an experienced fish owner of over 15 years. I purchased 5 Cory doras which ALL quickly died on me. They came with a parasite which unfortunately also killed half of my other fish in the tank. I went back and informed them that all the fish I bought there died and got brushed off. I then took a look at the fish there out of curiosity and found a good chunk of the tanks filled with these poor fish (still for sale) dying of ick, fungus, Fin rot, etc.

This is where I go to get everything I need for my furry little friends (cats) and the selection in addition to their customer reward system and in-app/printed receipt coupons, I think that I have saved a lot of money. They carry quality food for cats and dogs, as well as just about every other domestic house pet. The cheaper ones are also available, however I prefer to give my animals quality, and the loyalty discounts on many of the top-tier brands is incredibly helpful when you are on a budget.

If I had to guess about how the employee felt about their jobs, I would have to assume that the love their jobs! I do not remember a time when I was not greeted by the closest cashier upon entering the doors, and I am always greeted with a smile! That goes a long way with many customers, such as myself. Also, when I have a question, there are NEVER shortages of CORRECT answers from these hard-working individuals. I know that my pets are in good hands with the information that I am given! To all staff, administrative and floor employees: never stop the hard work and dedication you provide! It is always a fantastic pleasure shopping here!

Tried to exchange defective product that was recommended by a petsmart trainer the day after it was bought online and picked up curbside, the store manager (Stephane) would not even let me show him a receipt or give an explanation. Since we didn't buy it from "his" store and it wasn't "his" trainer that recommended it he didn't want to hear it. He did not let me discuss it. Too bad the store manager is arrogant, grooming staff are nice.

Always friendly and helpful at this store. Good selection of fish and pet-foods. Love seeing people walking around the store with their excited dogs.

Exactly a month today, I ran into this store frantically looking for a recommended dog crate for our dog. This wasn't a usual store visit as the rest of my family and our dog were at the airport hoping and praying I make it back in time to catch our flight to Calgary - the airline had given me a time deadline to be back to the airport or risk having our booking rescheduled to next day. This would have had a negative ripple effect on the rest of our itinerary, in addition to the extra hotel cost in Ottawa had our booking been postponed.

So, as I ran into the store frantically looking for assistance, then came STEPHANE! Upon realizing my plight, he not only assisted me in quickly selecting the right dog crate, but also went further to quickly assemble the crate for me, all in a bid to make sure I made it back to the airport in time for our flight.

STEPHANE saved the day for me, my family and our pet! Because of his swift response and generosity, I was able to make it just in time to the airport to catch our flight - You should have seen the smile on everyone's faces, including the elation from the airline staff when I ran into the departure hall with the dog crate.

Sylvie in my opinion was a life saver today! We had an unfortunate issue with our 65 gallon fish tank. The bottom seam let go at 10pm. My wife and I spent the next 4hrs trying to save our fish and floors. As seen in photo below all we could do was try to make temporary tanks out of rubbermaid totes. I called Petsmart first thing the next morning. I explained situation to the nice man who answered phone and he directed me to manager Sylvie. I explained to Sylvie our issue. She helped me go over what tanks they have in stock. Not only did she make our day by willing to do over the phone order in a time of need. Sylvie gave me a cherry on top by saying tank was on sale 50% off from what I was seeing online. Photo below is of the beautiful new tank. Great customer service in an emergency type situation. Thank you again Sylvie and staff.

Great selection of cat toys and the have the cutest collars, much better than just plain colours Ive seen at other stores. Also love the seasonal products they bring in. Staff have always been helpful and polite.

I purchase dog food here regularly with no issues. I have used the pay online and pick option once and it worked well also. They have a good selection of dog food and dog toys. Lots of cat, fish and small animal items here as well. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Awesome experience, I asked when entering the store if they had a certain product. And the woman radios someone else to as well as sent someone to the department when she found out they had the product, then advised me where to go and they had it.ot was great, I didn't need to run around, it was a clean pleasant as tore, helpful courteous staff. Very great experience. P. S.apparently budgies breeding is screwed up because of the covid crisis- I learned that today. Apparently they only have babies/chicks whatever they are called usually once a year. So as the breeding cycle was delayed with last lockdown and not being able to have people into stores to shop, breeders decided to skip the last breeding session.which, if your wondering is probably why you won't find a budgie for sale in Ottawa and area for the past year or so, and probably not for another maybe 6 months or so perhaps. Interesting little fact isn't it!?

Great place to get animal products, and bring your animal. A little pricey, but a lot of variety and interesting treats for your pets. Staff are very helpful

I never entered this place. I parked and called, put in an order and paid via credit card then drove to the entrance and they brought out the order. It was all well enough, except they couldn't take debit, so if that's all you have save yourself the time and go somewhere else.

Great place for my cat and I signed up for a free membership and I get exclusive deals with some items that go on sale periodically for the members and you receive recite by email so no worries if you want to return something.

Big box pet store with grooming and training services for dogs. Also have cat adoption in partnership with local rescue organizations and do not sell bred cats/Dogs (this is good) They do sell fish and small animals.

As a pet superstore, it is the Walmart of pet supplies. You get standard prices and wide selection.but without personality of local pet stores. Can get good deals through email promotions but otherwise prices are fairly standard. (Price fixing by pet suppliers in Canada is widespread.) They may have large sizes available, but dont expect a discount for a bulk purchase.

Dog training often has the run of the place and many people bring their dogs with them in the store. Some are better behaved than others.

Staff are mostly friendly, and pet lovers.but advice often sounds like out of a corporate product sheet. It can be difficult to tell eho is store staff and who is a product rep. I was quoted some marketing propaganda on more than one occasion.

Edit/Update: Reduced from 3 stars to 2. Discovered today that Petsmart does not honor the voluntary scanning code of practice. Had several items come up at the wrong price. Be vigilant as your items are scanned.

I had a wonderful experience the other day.
One of the staff offered me to meet a ball python (to face my fears) and so I did! And I learned a lot about this snake and touched it a few times. I was very impressed with how much he knew and how friendly he was. Thank you!

They shamed me and discriminated my rescue, said I was mistreating him because he couldn't be groomed but it's actually previous owners whom we RESCUED him from, idiots. They told us he wasn't allowed back, like I would take him back to those incompetent people!

Bonita loves to be there! She enjoys and all the staff take care of her. They are friendly, open, hardworking, and always with a smile!

We adopted a rabbit from them and I was amazed at how knowledgable they were. One guy (wish I remembered his name) has bunnies and he spent lots of time with me and my son going over care and what we will need. Awesome. Thank you!

Don’t book with them for a pet hotel for a Canadian holiday. They’ll call you last minute and tell you to pay an extra night. They blame it on their American callcenters and didn’t do anything to accommodate. Really unprofessional, would highly avoid!

It was so depressing to go inside this place. We saw Betta fish trapped in tiny containers, poor birds trapped in cages, and reptiles imprisoned in very small tanks. Such as sad life for these innocent creatures who PetSmart seems to view as commodities to be profited from

Always a great place to go, I've never had any problems with any of their stores. We have bought our dogs fresh pet food there for the last 10 years. They also carry charlee bear meaty bites which I cannot find anywhere else. They also sell their regular charlee bear treats for cheaper then anywhere else.

Good products and customer service. The groomers are always kind, not only towards the pets, but their owners as well

This was the only store, next to an animal hospital or a vet, where I could find Royal Canin developmental kitten food wet for underweight babies! Yeah! I really looked everywhere but it had to be this brand as the kittens were fragile still & would not tolerate changes in their diet. Thank god Pet Value had it & a staff member helped me get the closest version since the vets products are packaged differently. Who knew? Pet Value knew, and now so do I. Ty

I left my dog over one night (24 hours) because i needed to leave town.i asked for extra walk with my dog. He is big dog. 80lb.because picked up him they told me they walked with him around 7.i took him at 8.and just right after i took him out of store he pooped huge amount. (as owner i could easily say how long my dog waited) and from that i am able to say he holds it for 12 hours minimum. Disappoint on this service.

This store.where to begin! It is a great, clean and very well layed out store. They have literally EVERYTHING a pet owner could ever need. Even grooming services! I had so many amazing options, I needed some guidance so I asked for help with grain free dog food. From then on, it was the best experience. She took her time to go through all options. Starting with budget. In no way did she try upsell me on anything. She did take me to the high end area first as I did not have a strict budget I just needed the ear infections to stop. She explained in people food terms which helped so much. I ended up with a 5 star food for a very reasonable price and I was very satisfied. The return policy is also incredible if your dog or cat doesn't like it. I live in Montreal but when I visit mthly, I will be stopping here! Great store and great service!

What a great place. How can you not love a business which allows you to bring your pets in of any kind into the store. They are knowledgeable and they have lots of product to fit the needs of any animal that you have as a pet.
The Grooming is top-notch as you can watch through the glass to see your animal being taken care of and treated properly as they should be.

Every variety of dog/cat/fish/. Food, litter, toys etc.there is, good selection of fish and other pets, friendly staff.

This Petsmart has some of the friendliest service members. Our pug is a little finicky when it comes to grooming often wiggling and squirming away when its done. We brought him in for a nail trim and the ladies were very kind yet firm with him. Making sure that he knows he is secured and gets the job well done. The place could be a little cleaner but it is understandable with the constant influx of pets needing to be groomed.
