I've always been with Petsmart for my dog's grooming but the service at this location grooming salon specifically is a bit off. We dropped our dog off at 4 for a groom and got a call at 5: 30ish that he was done. We couldn't get back until 6: 30 for pickup which is within the 2-3 hour pickup window. We got a scolding from the groomer who was last there, lights off, packed and ready to leave her shift early. She then charged us a boarding fee for her inconvenience lol

Petsmart refunded us so I'm still a customer but this location's grooming service is off

They overwork their staff and try to make them do a lot of different things at once (bookings, pet services, greeting, cashiering).

Don't try to pop in for a quick purchase. It won't be quick. Selection is great though.

I attended the Pickering location looking for some dog’s medicine.
The staff advised me what was the best option and were are professional as always are.

Thank you for being so understanding and condescending.

Where do I begin.
I booked for a grooming at the Pickering location, as it was the only location that had time to accept my Labradoodle. At 8: 00am the day of the appointment I received an email saying that my grooming had been cancelled. I immediately called and was told by Danielle, the team lead, that the groomer that was assigned to my dog had a weight limit of 30lbs. My dog is 29 lbs and set up in the Pet Smart system as such. Danielle couldn’t understand how a Labradoodle could only be 29 lbs and took it upon herself to cancel the appointment without contacting me. I informed her my LABRADOODLE was under 30lbs. She agreed to keep the appointment.

I drove from downtown Toronto, to Pickering. It took approximately an hour. Upon arrival they did a pre groom inspection and told me they could not groom her, because her ear tips were too matted. Firstly she was just groomed by another Pet Smart a month earlier, so maybe they did not groom her properly? I suggested the alternative was to groom the balance of her body, and that I would take her to another groomer that was qualified to deal with matting.
I was then told that they would not be able to see her, or to do any of the grooming at all. I spoke to “Danielle Harding” the team leader, and then also involved Peter, assistant store lead. This service was appalling, and to be completely transparent, I was embarrassed at not only both of their customer service, but also lack of ability to deal with matting, or agree to do the balance of her groom. It then took me 1.5 hours to drive back to Toronto.
I provided a suitable alternative, based on their lack of ability to deal with slightly matted ears to groom the rest of her and they sent me home with a un-groomed dog.
PLEASE NEVER TAKE YOUR DOG TO THIS LOCATION. THEY ARE RUDE, UNTRAINED, AND UNQUALIFIED TO GROOM ANY LIVING ANIMAL
I am saddened that a company like Pet Smart would employ such incompetent employees.
You can see by the note that I asked Daniel to write that their concern was hematoma near the ears. Why couldn’t they do the rest of the groom? Who would they suggest does the work on the ears…besides a groomer. I regress.

I frequently drop by my nearby PetSmart store to check out their latest offerings and discounts. Over the years, I've made several purchases at this location, ranging from African Grey Parrot food to dog treats and clothing. I even acquired a Siamese Fighter Fish from there. The staff at this store has consistently impressed me with their friendly demeanor and extensive knowledge. It's a convenient place to shop, offering a wide array of choices, and there's usually a great deal to be found.

Not recommend for puppy grooming as they didn’t do much for my 6 month old puppy, their policy says “ because it’s a puppy we will do only face and private partes “ but the problem with that is that’s nothing and they charge you full price, last time my puppy got in to the grooming area, and when I picked him up, it was looking the same as he was earlier I didn’t know what to do, the only difference he was smelling very good. On top of that they tell You to bring the puppy back in the next couple of weeks and at The end of the month or month and a half it will cost you a lot of money (around $150 ish), I bring my puppy to a specific groomer and it’s $60 and he gets done EVERYTHING and you don’t bring him in again probably in 2.5 months.so I would recommend the store to buy anything you need, very well equipped, but not for grooming. This is just based on my experience.

We love coming here to get stuff for all our friends doggies! They gave a great selection and they have lots of options to chose from. We always find what we are looking for and the staff is generally helpful.

No customer service. The lady in the aquarium section yesterday (she s healthy sorry for my description) seems to be racist. She doesn t smile she did not greet us at all. We ve been standing there for like 10 mins as she was chatting to someone, and she never tried to approach us after that. Her voice tone was so formal when we started talking to her. Worst PetSmart branch - petNOTsmart branch. And add, other staff were just standing at their post even if they saw us waiting.

Talk about rude customer service. If you don't want people to look at you while grooming the dogs, then put signs up on the glass and don't come out yelling at customers for being "distracting" for your own incompetency in grooming dogs.

Teresa and her staff are absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable, sympathetic, and extremely kind. Teresa deserves a raise and promotion for her excellent customer service and attention to detail. Bravo! Thank you so much for everything EVERY TIME! I make it a point to travel further just for the service this location provides.

All staff are nice at Pickering location and they always take time to greet Bella and give her cookies. We visit them very often. Today, I was looking for a good harness and Shay helped us find the perfect one for my Bella. Shay is super patient and lovely.

We highly recommend Petsmart Grooming in Pickering, we have been using their services for the past 2 years. All staff are great. Katie our groomer is wonderful with our little Milo.

I've come out of my way to find a particular item that I've bought here many times only to find over the last 5 or 6 trys they Don't have it again apparently. Rens pets here I come they have had it each time i go.

Soooooo.booked an appointment for nails for 6pm on a day where they close at 9. Was called the day of at 5: 02pm.they left a msg saying they can't do 6 so be there for 5? ! (@ 5: 02) because they were so busy? So we sprinted to the location to be told that they only do walkins (even though they took our appointment) and that they weren't doing and more salon business today.any one want to count all the lies and misinformation for me please.petsmart.no thanks!

Second location I had to drag my dog to in order to have his nails clipped. First location was my fault I guess they’re closed on sundays, ok. I call Pickering and nobody picks up the phone, I check the website it says open today 12-6. Arrive there to see the grooming is closed and all the staff standing in the middle of the store. The staff said “we’re short staffed, go to stoufville”

“They’ll do anything for pets” except for stay open when their hours show they are.

I wish I could give no stars. I’m SO disappointed in my experience today. I attended this location as they had the quickest available appointment for my 20lb Havanese Poodle whose coat was too much for the warmer temperatures we have been having. Upon dropping her off, the staff was rude and seemed as though I was bothering them by bringing my dog to her appointment. I asked how long it would take and they advised 2-3 hours and that they would give me a call 20 minutes before she was ready to be picked up. At the 3.5 hour mark, I gave them a call as I was waiting in the area- having come from Oshawa. They didn’t answer so I gave it another 15-20 minutes before calling again. Whoever I spoke with told me that she would be another 45 minutes to an hour. This seemed unreasonable as my dog is 20 lbs and all she was having done was a haircut but I said nothing and continued to wait. By hour 5 I started to get concerned so I went back to the store only to see one associate spinning in her chair and another one on the phone. At this point I just wanted my dog so I asked to pick her up. I was asked “oh did no one call you? ” No, no one called me. Despite the salon being empty and my dog being locked in the kennel for however long. No, no one called me. Despite my dog being so desperate to relieve herself and have some water. No, no one called me. I will never be back. If you have even the slightest amount of compassion for your pet, I beg you not to bring them to this location. I am so so so disappointed. I would have waited around for however long I needed to if she was being taken care of properly but to see how desperate she was, not to mention the cut hair in her eyes and a sub-par haircut. I am so sorry to have put my dog through this and I will NEVER take her back there.

There are so many similar products and brands. Sometimes, it is difficult to get the right one. The staff made sure I got the right brand. Very helpful
