Generally pretty well stocked in the small pets department but sometimes they run out of a particular hay or pellet that I am looking for. I stock up on litter when they have deals on it. Staff are friendly. They open late and there's ample free parking.
I was in last week and had a guy named Chris (I think) assist me in questions I had for some of the hamsters i was looking at. I wanted information about caring for these animals before purchasing and he was very knowledgeable and professional in answering all my questions that i had. Just based on that experience I'll definitely be back to to have him assist me in the future!
Took my puppy (F2B goldendoodle) there for his first time “Puppy Spa” on Sunday and it went well I think.he was scared at first heading to the back but was super HAPPY when we picked him up and he looked so handsome and fluffy … it took almost 3 hrs.
We were told they will give me a call 15 mins prior BUT never got a call … I did get an notification from the app saying my puppy is finished and ready for pickup… (what if I didn’t have the app) When we picked him up, I told the girl I never received a call 15 mins prior before he was ready so I’ll be on time rather than being late. She said “oh really” then verified my number and said “oh we couldn’t get a hold of you” lol BUT no one never called (phone didn’t ring). Anywho overall, other than the no call thing.the staff at the grooming area were friendly and nice!
The cashier however (the older lady with the wig) was not friendly or friendly looking she looked like she didn’t wanna be where she was and just rude!
Went today to check out the fish and get some aquatic plants and encountered the most helpful sales associate I’ve dealt with at any pet store. Chris, from the fish dept, was busy restocking fish and plants when I arrived and helped me understand the different types of plants and the conditions they thrive in. He also recommended some plant nutrients and helped me pick out some neon tetras. Not only was he incredibly patient and kind to me, he was also incredibly gentle with the fish and seemed to genuinely care for their well being. It really made me change my perspective around big box stores not having staff that cared as much about the animals. Totally not the case with Chris. He even talks to them like they’re his friends. Makes me feel great buying more fish from him in the future.
They have a wide variety of options for your pets, however their puppy training and socialization classes are not the best. Waste of money and not beneficial for your dog, I highly suggest to find professionals if you want proper education and advice on how to train your puppies at a young age.
I go to this location because this one is the closest to me. The customer service has never been good here and you can never find someone to help you but at least I can more often than not, find the items I need in stock. If you want to feel like your shopping in a store that is "closed" then this is the place to go. You never see an employee there. Unless you are cashing out or need crickets. Everything I go there not one employee has ever approached me to ask if I need anything. Even prior to covid.
My last experience I had on Friday. I never want to go back to this location. I have never felt so disrespected as a customer until that day by 1 employee. Her attitude was sour and she was absolutely unapproachable. Unfortunately she was the only cashier and I was done shopping. I had to go to her register to cash out.
No customer service training. So demanding. I didn't even get a "Hello" a simple phrase. I got "put your items on the belt"
I felt so rushed at that moment. I only had a few small items and I wanted to maintain distance from the person in front of me using the debit machine. I should also mention I have my 4 year old son with me. But she persisted, with a horrible attitude, to get my stuff on the belt. Also, motioning me to "hurry up" by using her arm in circular motion. Now at this point I'm feeling embarrassed because it seems like I don't know what I'm doing.
I'm polite and try to have minimal small talk. I'm rejected. Instead of holding an appropriate short conversation with a customer she instead asks for my phone number for the store card and nothing more. I pay and leave. About ~100 I spent there.
This is the part that really bothers me.
I realized I forgot to give the cashier my 15% off coupon that would expire by the time I needed to come back. So I walk back in knowing who I have to go back to.
She immediately gave me attitude about it. Making me feel like I'm totally inconvenient for asking to use the coupon. I only have about 7-8 small items. Not alot. She had to "return" the products and then scan them back in. She rushed me. "Put them on the belt, put them on now. " Once she finished the "return" process and started re-scanning is where I had enough. I was buying fragile items. Reptile lights and fixture along with other items. They way she treated my products was awful. As she was scanning them she was aggressively handling and putting my stuff on the small table behind her really hard. I almost wanted to not purchase them anymore due to possible defects. You could hear the irritation in her voice the whole time she was doing this. You could clearly tell by her face, tone and attitude that she wanted nothing to do with what I had politely asked her to do. It was not even busy. 2 customers came in line when she was over halfway done. When she seen they were in line she was even more irritated. I quickly left without another word. I felt disrespected and embarrassed.
I don't understand how ill-mannered employees have a job in customer service. They are the last employee the customer sees and that last encounter should be a relatively happy experience. I will never go to this location again because of this encounter. At this point I'd rather go to a different store altogether and spend a few extra dollars on the same products. At least I'll feel like a "person".
The Grooming salon rebooked by appointment 2 times, then when I finally got my dog in, they didn't have enough time to finish him. I brought him in today to complete the grooming, but had been given the wrong time and was told that they couldn't see him. This is two months after my initial appointment! My dog is tangled and matted. I have been overcharged in the past as well. Avoid this place! If you can go somewhere else, you should.
Called PetSmart Grooming to book an appointment for my two dogs. The staff (Emanuela) were rude, spoke with a hostile voice. Told us one of my dogs did not have a profile even though we have been there twice already. Put us on hold without telling us. I went to check to see if I can book online and all of a sudden, BOTH my dogs were booked for an appointment when I was on the site. Turns out her manager Courtney was standing right beside her while she was speaking to me, and heard the way she speaks to clients. The customer service in the grooming section should be retrained because it was an unpleasant experience. The groomer Jessii though, is great and we love going to her.
So I made a reservation for my dog to stay at the hotel for October 2nd
I have been calling for a few days now as I have a voicemail to confirm her stay and every time I call no one has any idea what I’m talking about.
I called again today and I was put on hold 3 times so this guy could talk to his manager who he said “has no idea what I’m talking about”
I understand the boarding is closed till the 30th but why would I receive a voicemail to confirm her stay and then be told they have no idea what I’m talking about
It does not make me feel safe to leave my dog in the hands of people with attitude and unorganized
After I addressed my concerns and that I wanted to cancel the guy literally spoke over my concerns and gave me so much attitude about wanting to cancel that I’m so glad I made the choice to cancel as why would I leave my dearly loved dog in the hands of someone like this.
Beware of this place as they don’t care about your dogs stay and get defended when you want to cancel your dogs stay.
Well stocked. Lots of stuff for almost any basic pet. No bulbs T8 30 inches. I tried so many stores. My go to shop. But because I can't get what I need here. I find myself going to places that have that bulb. And buying everything from them. No real reason to keep shopping here.
As a small bird owner it's not easy to find food that my birds like. I find this store has a great selection of small bird food and treats as well as accessories in store.
I like to explore other PetSmart locations for fish + fish supply selection but this one is overall is my favourite, lately I've seen some really nice clearance fish deco at the back table by their aquatic plants. My toddler loves to check out their hamsters and the fish.
Not pleased with the grooming service at all. Is there a spot for no stars? I was disgusted by Courtney’s unprofessional service and rudeness! She stated my dog requires a sedative! So happy I didn’t return to the abusive climate of petsmart on Eglinton!
Website need to update. They had no budgies. Drove for 1 hr to find this shop and website say they have birds and all accessories however at the store front they say they didnt have birds for years now. Not helpful.
Everyone was very sweet. It was her first groom, I had been able to maintain her hair for some time. But the hair cut my dog had was horrible. A complete shave down when I asked for them to save as much as possible (teddy bear cut) to avoid the shave down. I'll try another grooming place next time.
I frequent this Petsmart a lot because it’s the closest to me, and the staff are all very nice, but the most recent times I’ve gone in (Sunday and Tuesday) there was a quite obviously sick cashier. She was very nice and I know people are tight for money nowadays, but we’re still working through a pandemic and I think it was irresponsible of the managers to allow her to work. There are vulnerable shoppers! She sounded severely congested and had mucous-y sounding coughs. It made me very uncomfortable and I don’t think I’ll be going back there for a while.
Never fail, they always have things never expected to find in pet stores IE: cone for miniature chihuahua. Thank you. Oh and always have best information on products.:)
The perfect score is all due to the service and professionalism shown by the groomer Courtney. She is amazing. It’s very evident that she not only does an amazing groom, but that she also cares very much about the dogs she grooms.
When my dogs are at ease, I know I can trust the groomer. Once they hear her friendly voice they run towards the salon - how many dogs do you know that do that.
I definitely would not hesitate to recommend Courtney for any of your dogs grooming needs. My dogs love her!
Only one cashier was available due to technical difficulties with the debit machines. The line up was ridiculous; all the way to the back of the store.
I'm a new dog owner all of the staff was so helpful. I had so many questions and both employees I spoke with were so great. Courtney was really good with giving me all kinds of grooming advice for my Maltese. I couldn't of been happier with the service. I'll definitely be back.
The staff were amazing! The groomers did an amazing job on my boy, he looks like his young self again. Very friendly and patient. Highly recommend them
The service in this particular store is absolutely amazing. Even in this crazy pandemic the staff is beyond helpful, in particular, Elise who literally goes above and beyond to ensure client satisfaction.

A well stocked superstore with a points system. We went looking for a doggy bed and found good value. We made an appointment at the grooming shop to get our great beast trimmed, clipped and washed.
Excellent staff and social distancing well maintained. Enjoy shopping here and will come back again - great rewards program is a bonus. Great prices as well.
My beagle puppy and I had the most traumatic 3 hour experience at this location. As per the petsmart grooming guidelines at our appointment our Groomer Olivia asked about our puppys rabies Vaccine record (the paper copy) as the tag wasnt suffice. Since we did not have it on hand, she asked for our vets number -his office was closed when we offered the vets emergency number she said you can put it on speaker on your phone no problem. Our vet coincidentally is also of Indian origin, upon hearing the accent another groomer-Courtney (not involved in the care of our puppy) chimed in and RACIALLY profiled us. She rudely asked upon hearing the vets name and accent, “is that even the vet? , who did you call? ! ” We were appalled at Courtneys despicable behavior and tone. Her racially driven comments are unacceptable. At that moment, to prove our point and Brunos vaccination- we drove home to gather his papers. Upon return, we addressed the issue with the store manager on duty- Elise. She was already brought up to speed regarding the incident and Courtney had the chance to give her side of the story. The manager was apologetic, and mentioned that she does not agree with racially driven comments and behavior and was sorry that it happened. Her way of making it up to us was offering a discount and throwing in the extra shampoo add on. At this point we are frustrated and furious because neither of those compensations provided us with an apology from Courtney, nor does a discount of any kind make this behavior acceptable or tolerable. 2.5 hours later, we came to get Bruno and we asked Elise (the manager) if she knew where Bruno and his groomer were. She went into the grooming area, came out and said, Olivia (the groomer) is on break and shes not really sure where Bruno is, neither do any of the other groomers. At this point I was one frantic parent! Imagine dropping your human child to a daycare, coming back to be told the teacher is on break and we dont know where your child is? ! Upon Olivia’s return it is brought to our attention that she hasnt even gotten started on Bruno yet (3 hours have passed, shes taken 2 break? !). The manager continues to tell us, Olivia is having some back issues and its taking longer, further apologizes for the delay. At this point it had been way too long and to have to put our puppy through another 3 hours just didn’t seem humane to us. Our puppy deserves better, sad that his first ever grooming session was a nightmare and didnt even happen. It seems as if this location would rather serve individuals of Caucasian decent and have an ignorant attitude towards those of color. I am thoroughly disappointed at their mistreatment of myself and my puppy. Also, I attached a picture of their rushed nail trim (jagged edges) just to show you how much they care. My poor puppy was so sad and he had tears in his eyes! NEVER AGAIN.
Staff at the petsmart were friendly, they were welcoming to my new puppy and were understanding when she peed on the floor. A staff member helped me find my product and carried it to the cash for me as well saving me to find a trolley and manage my puppy at the same time. Thanks!
The folks here at the salon are absolutely amazing, friendly, and knowedgable. They truly care about each and every dog that comes in and out of the salon. This was the second time that my pup Kio came to the salon, and we were just as satisfied as the last time!
They're usually pretty good about stock and the employees are friendly and helpful. The store is kept clean and not usually over-run with a ton of customers. Always lots of dog toys/apparel/treats on sale and they'll match the online price, if you show it to them, though I wish their "Clearance" section was bigger and more clearly marked. The bettas a usually very pretty and their cups are kept clean. However Big Al's has better pricing for general fish, as Petsmart's are never on sale and their regular prices are also usually higher. I can't say much about their cats/birds/reptiles things, as I don't have any, and I buy my rabbit stuff elsewhere. Their Treats program is a huge plus, as well as the coupons you can earn on their app and the coupons you often get on the top of your receipts. Also, it's really handy that if you have a Treats membership, all you receipts are emailed to you as well. It makes receipts much easier to keep track of.
Scarborough West store is located on north side of Eglinton Ave East between Warden Ave.and Birchmount Rd. You will find wide variety of pet supplies, and most friendliness store associates here to help.
Terrible curbside pickup. Takes 6+ hours for them to pick your order, if your lucky, and another 20/30mins to bring it out. Kennedy and 401 have orders done within the hour and bring them out 5mins after you call. Why is it such a difference?
This white girl with her blonde her working today at January 15,2021 at 5: 00pm is very rude! I was supposed to get my pick up that i ordered at 12: 00pm and i tried to pick it up right now at 5: 00pm, is giving me attitude like she doesn’t want to work! Slam the door on me and talk to me in a rude way. I badly needed my order for my dog that is why i ordered it early in the afternoon so i can pick it up. She actually ruined my day what a terrible customer service by her.
DO NOT GET YOUR PET GROOMED HERE! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY TAKE CARE OF YOUR PET AND THE GROOMERS ARE CLEARLY NOT EXPERIENCED, THEY TURN AWAY YOUR PET IF THEY DON'T WANT/KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH THEM.
Went there today for my dog training with Dimitri. He was very professional, caring & I felt very comfortable. I would recommend him 100% & have confidence he will be able to help “ me” be a better owner to my dog.
You can tell that the staff all love animals. Very kind and patient as witnessed in the grooming area. Huge selection of anything you need (or don't need). Always brought my beloved Emma and they loved her.
TERRIBLE TERRIBLE NEVER BRING YOUR DOG HERE FOR DAY CAMP. My wife and myself have a one year old pup named Matata. We always take her to petsmart for the doggy day camp in Ajax because of the service there is AMAZING. The workers are so professional, friendly and caring. Matata loves going there. This is our second time taking matata to the location at warden and Eglition and it will be the last time. On weekends we dont want to leave matata at home we want her to play with other dogs and have fun. We were told by an employee that the dogs play from 1pm-5pm. It was our dogs birthday today so we told the employee from 1230pm please give her ice cream in her crate so she will be done by 1pm so she can play from 1pm-5pm. We went early to pick up matata at 420pm. The employees stated they are eating dinner. Mind you 3/4 employee at the desk were on their phones doing nothing. The dogs didn't get put in the play area until 130pm and they got put back in their crate before 430pm. This is not the first time this is happened at this location. The workers there at the camp were very rude and looked like they didn't want to be there. To anyone who is wants to take their dogs here for camp. Please dont waste your time. When we take our dog to the ajax location she comes home so tired. Today she was full of energy. Terrible service at this location. If manager is reading this. Please look into hiring better staff that actually care about pets and their jobs. Also they should provide factual information and not lie to their customers. Thank God for the Ajax location petsmart. If u want pay for your dog to sit in a crate all day with ungrateful employees that should have no business around dogs.please send your dogs to this location. Matata will never be coming back.
Really great staff at the grooming/petshotel. They were kind, caring, treated my mutt like he was one of their own. I went for a touch up, they don't groom the tail or body, but I asked if they could do the tail and she said no problem. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND these ladies for ALL your pet grooming needs, my little guy is always shaking when grooming and he was still on the table, he was able to see me and I was able to tall to the little guy, so he didnt shake a bit. 5 Stars isn't enough 7 Star!
I have been coming to this store since it opened. The staff are very friendly, they don't hound (lol no pun intended) you around the store and you're allowed to shop with your pets. This is the only place i purchase my pet food and toys/treats, despite there being other pet stores closer to me.
I was in this location last night to have my dog's nail's done, and I was turned away due to my dog's rabies vaccine being 12 days out of date! I have been going to this location for 5 + years (every 2 months or so). I have NEVER been turned away for such a insignificant reason.the shoot lasts up to 2 years! I know I have spoke to many vet's about this. Well Petsmart, I will not return to this location again!
I have now had Barnaby stay at the Pet Hotel twice (his third visit will be this weekend), including doggie day camp. The Team at the Hotel have been amazing! Barnaby has had a blast and has come home happy and exhausted every time. Barnaby is a rescue and struggles with separation anxiety. The Team at the Hotel have been so accommodating and helpful in making him as comfortable and happy as possible. I can't say enough good things about the hotel. If you need to go away and want a place you can trust your dog to be safe and happy at, definitely book the PetHotel at this location!
Good place to find a large selection of pet-care items. They also offer a doggie hotel and grooming service though i can't personally vouch for the quality of the said services.
Is a nice store. We like to go there not only because is closer than the other ones in Scarborough, from home but also the staff is nice and very helpful, so far I like it!
It's unreal how PetSmart can stay in business. My wife and I came here to do some shopping for our new rescue cats and we were blown away by how expensive it is to buy supplies here. Litter and food were fine, but we were shopping for cat toys and it was ridiculous.
With so many cheaper competitors out there, PetSmart seems only to exist for the expensive, all natural cat foods that you can't get at cheaper big stores. I guess if you're in the market for Blue Buffalo or whatever that fancy stuff is, this is the place for you?
Love this location. Lisa is amazing in grooming. Puppy training staff are fantastic too. All staff are super friendly and helpful. Thanks for an amazing experience every time we visit.:)
Amazing as always. They have a grooming salon as well as the shop. The staff was wonderful and kept asking if I needed assistance. Very knowledgeable as well. There is a cat adoption area that always makes my heart melt. Great selection and great staff.
