Ate here because of reviews and proximity of the place. Menu is simple and straightforward. Price is reasonable, Great portions. Fish tasted really great, nice and crispy batter - close to what you would get in London. Amazing hot and sweet sauce that they make on premise. Tartar sauce was really yummy too.

Review is based solely on how good their shrimp burgers are! Was expecting a fish cake type of patty but was pleasantly surprised with whole pieces of battered shrimp. At less than ten dollars, the shrimp burgers are a great value considering how many pieces of shrimp are in the sandwich.

Omg this place is great! The fish is fresh and the fries are crispy with seasoning salt. The coleslaw is flavourful and has a great vinegar taste to it. I got the halibut, and it was tender and flakey, my date got the hadock, which we wish was a bit more tender. The fish batter was lite and airy, with a good amount of seasoning. 8.5/10 would recommend.

BEST! Fish tacos EVER! Seriously the size of these things was hugggeee well packed with really nice crispy fish and loaded with fresh toppings, the sauce was like a perfect spicy mayo. AND the tortilla was so good never had one that was cooked like that, unreal. We will be craving to go back and have it again.

Went with my husband for a quick dinner date. The interior is nice, love the benches, maps, and articles with local history. It's a nice spot to go for a bite. The only things that could be improved are some music (even faint) and maybe some cushions or acoustic panels to soften the sound. A 2 person conversation felt too loud for the space.

I ordered the halibut, it was delicious and moist. The batter was great! Fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce all delicious.
My husband ordered the cod, he said it was good but a little dry and he much preferred the halibut. We would both go again but get halibut, or try the tacos.

I saw an earlier review about cutlery, they've changed it to metal cutlery.

THE WORST FISH AND CHIPS IN TORONTO AND THATS SAYING SOMETHING. They sell FRIES not chips. The batter is to thin and oily. The gravy is disgusting. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! GO TO MCDONALDS YOU WILL SAVE AND ENJOY A FISH FILET MORE!

The fish tacos are really good! The pastry shell they’re served in is super yummy. The restaurant decorations are also very cute

The server was very friendly and the old school fish and chips were absolutely delicious. This place does not disappoint.

I've been passing this business for about 6 months now and today I finally stopped by to have lunch, let's just say I'll be going back real soon

The food was AMAZING I order the shrimp tacos and some onion rings everything was fresh tasty and the portion size was great.

I write more in sadness than in anger with a mixed review.

I overheard a conversation with a woman at the next table who may be the owner. It seems the business plan includes a ghost kitchen to supply delivery apps. Plus heavy marketing to capitalize on the brand she bought.

She was clearly a restaurant pro. But she never mentioned quality. Hmm.

That said, my halibut was huge and delicious. It was perfectly cooked in a light and crispy batter. The price was reasonable. Service was friendly.

But, but, but.

The chip quality was very poor, far worse than at McDonald's. Think greasy frozen fries served lukewarm.

The tartar sauce came in tiny plastic packets. It tasted so bad that I had to scrape it off. Inexcusable.

Verdict: not recommended.

Worst fish and chips I've ever had. The chips and the fish looked like they were deep-fried in days old oil. And they charge so much for such bad quality food.

This was a random pick for dinner tonight out with a friend. Wow, what a good choice we made to come here! Highly recommend coming here, the fish and fries are So good. Amazing cook on the fish, flavourful but not overdone and the fries are great. The Calamari was good but a little overfried in our case (can tell how dark it is in the pic) but I think would be really good. A+ would highly recommend to go here and I will be again!

One thing that disappointed me was the use of disposable fork & knife in a packet (can be seen in the one photo background). Considering we were dining in it felt wasteful to use them and have more waste in the landfill.

Not my favourite style of batter but chips were great! Food was crispy and hot but it just wasn’t very good fish and chips.expensive for what it is.the front of house was very nice and kind.i didn’t love the use of plastic cutlery for dine-in service and they could definitely make the switch to reusable cutlery rather than plastic.overall it’s a good place for a quick bite.quick note too: the restaurant isn’t very accessible.there isn’t a railing for the stairs (only two steps but still big ones).

I’m not gonna lie this is the best fish and chips I’ve had in my life! 10 out of 10 So delicious, crispy and using realll good fish also the fries and onion rings were so crispy as well even if you leave it for a while it was still crispy yummm 100% coming back

Co-worker and myself popped in for lunch. Had their shrimp tacos, calamari and mango mojito (no alcohol). Everything was tasty! Good portion size! Definitely, coming back again when in the area!

Told us to come back in 15 min, because it was closed. It was still not open 20 min later. You just lost 2 potentially longstanding customers.

I work in the area and always come for their crazy fries. Absolutely love it. With the sauce and onions and tomatoes! It’s a large quantity as well!

-Fries were sub par, not crispy
-Tartar sauce was unrefrigerated packets left on a table by the front door that was in direct sunlight
-Steel ramekins for ketchup and malt vinegar were all very dirty with residue from previous people crusted inside
-Flies were under every table

Awesome food. Our cashier was amazing - Satbir. She's friendly and funny. The place was neat and clean. We'll be back soon for sure.

The owner was very friendly and offered me a free beverage with my meal, I'm very happy to see this place keep the same name and quality it had with the previous owners great food!

So yummy! We stopped in here to grab some food to go on Wednesday night after a walk in Leslieville and it did not disappoint. The owner was quick, attentive and friendly. Whipping our food up in 10 minutes! It was still fresh by the time we got home and tasted so good. Will definitely be back

My husband and I shared a halibut and chips, the fish tacos, and Mo brought us a Mango Mojito on the house. We were stuffed and couldn’t finish it all. It was our first visit. Now we will be regulars there, for sure! First time: Sep8-22

The fish tacos are amazing! With new owners, updated decor and menu, I was nervous that the fish tacos wouldn’t be as yummy as they had been with the previous owners. I’m very happy to say that they are still delicious! With a paratha instead of a tortilla, the texture and hold-togetherness is on point. Their sauce is different, but delicious, too. Crispy fish, tasty sauce, fresh ingredients… awesome. I’ll continue to be a regular!

There's convenient GreenP parking right outside, and the warm welcoming ambiance makes the experience memorable. The fish and chips were awesome. Honestly, best fish and chips in Toronto! The staff are so pleasant and the food is delicious, could not recommend enough! And i barely leave reviews so consider this your sign to go try this place. NOW! Mmmm

It’s not fair for me to keep my original review up. This place has been taken over by other people. It’s more expensive and way less portions. Pictured cost me $16.00! Also not as tasty!

The single worst experience I have had with takeout. Ordered 1 piece cod and 1 piece halibut fish and chips, with a popcorn shrimp. They gave the popcorn shrimp to another guest, they brought it back and re-served it to me, then denied it. Got home only to realize they did not include chips with the halibut. Awful customer service.

Excellent food. Very friendly staff. There been around close to a hundred years and it shows The owner brought us his special house dip which was amazing! I even took some to go.

They were able to customise the shrimp taco to accommodate food allergies and we also had a lovely crispy fish and chips. Very friendly and clean.

I was so disappointed in the two fish I ordered. One was so over cooked it was crunchy. And both batter’s where nothing like the imagery on the app. The fries where the only thing that was enjoyed. Will not order again. Waste of money.
