Ren's Pets Ajax

I recently visited Ren's Pets in Ajax to shop for my two dogs and had a mixed experience with their customer service. However, the wide selection of pet food, treats, toys, and other products certainly made the visit worthwhile.

On my last visit on July 30,2023, I was fortunate to be assisted by an employee I had dealt with in the past. Her expertise and helpfulness were commendable, and she efficiently addressed my queries about the food I was purchasing. Moreover, she went above and beyond by answering questions about a dog trimmer I had bought the previous week. I left the store feeling satisfied with her assistance, and this exemplifies the type of customer service I hope to receive consistently.

However, I must acknowledge that my past experiences with customer service at Ren's Pets have been hit and miss. During a prior visit when I purchased the dog trimmer, I felt rushed and left with unanswered questions, which left me less than satisfied. The inconsistency in customer service is a concern as it affects the overall shopping experience and leaves customers unsure of what to expect. I hope they focus on providing more consistent and attentive customer service to enhance the overall shopping experience.

Close to home but some of the employees are hit and miss when it comes to knowing their products or promotions.
It would be nice to get consistency but overall the store is good.

Very clean for the dogs.
Very organized.
Love their events.

I've been going her since we've gotten our pups and put them on raw food. They have great service and are always willing to help you out.

Was very impressed with the selection, of collars, beds, dog food. The staff was very helpful, especially the lady working cash today unfortunately I did not get her name but it was around 1130. Will be back again.

They have a lot of stuff for our fur baby. Staff was friendly and helpful; looking forward to going back again soon.

The workers were all very nice when i got there- i called ahead and asked for a specific jacket for my dog to pickup and it was a good experience.

Very great experience a kind young lady with long dark hair helped me pick out a bed for my lab I am very pleased

They have all the best dog foods and the customer service was especially great. The lady working when I visited was a great help and very friendly.

We shop here when we're in town. The staff is really nice and helpful. There's lots of stock for what we're looking for. Always a good experience and their prices are very competitive.

Great customer service and my dog Rhys loves seeing his friends (RENS employees) there! I buy some grooming supplies there although the selection is more limited then the Whitby location there is still a good amount there. It has a lot of selection for food, treats, leashes, etc

This store is huge! Lots of selection and at an easy to access location. Staff are incredibly helpful and SO pleasant.

People used to be very knowledgeable about their products especially their variety of pet food including their raw food for dogs.
I did not feel anyone I got to talk to for advice knew much.

They always have what I need. Keelo loves the toys and raw food selections they provide. Any raw brand is available or ready to be purchased! From cheap to expensive they provide quality meats for your dog to enjoy.

Had the tough to find dog food we needed (Eukanuba Senior Lamb dry) as advertised on the Ren's website and even set one aside for us. Pleasant and helpful staff.

I placed an order for 2 bags of litter and a box. After waiting 2 weeks I recieved a call from an employee saying they had accidentally shipped it to themselves and I was going to have to pick it up in store. I called a week later on my first available day off and the lady I spoke with had no history of my order arriving. Instead of rectifying anything, they told me to file a claim with Canada Post. Last time shopping with this joke of a company.

This is the only nearby pet store I know of that offers brand name hay in a 50lb bale - yes, 50 pounds. My rabbit goes through her food very quickly and this is a little more efficient way to bulk purchase hay without having to make frequent trips. I've done this via the click & collect method on the website to order and pay in store, and it's a very easy process. There has been a time it got cancelled due to being out of stock, but I was notified fairly quickly. Maybe if stock levels could stay updated on the site it would be better. Whether pre-covid or during covid, the staff were always kind enough to offer to wheel it out or even carry the box to my car outside. Thank you for being that one store to carry a ton of rabbit food.

My first time at Ren's and Elza's help with choosing a Raw Food for our new fur baby was invaluable. She was courteous, thoughtful and acknowledged my concerns about defrosting larger portions, that she instead suggested a smaller (less expensive) box for my needs. Well done!

My dog loves coming here. They're friendly & every week or so she picks a new toy from here. They are friendly & always have what I want in stock.

Our favourite pet store by FAR! The staff here is so friendly and helpful. Ren's is always running sales on items, they discount pet food months before the expiry (which is great for stocking up), and they aren't ever out of stock of the items we need. Honestly, I rarely leave reviews for "big box" type stores, but this location is doing a fantastic job!

I absolutely love this store and it’s location! The staff is so friendly, educated and helpful with all my needs. They have a great points program, which I love! A very understanding return program as well. The selection of items is enormous, and always have everything I need! My pets and I get really excited for the monthly deals:)

Really enjoy shopping here. Great selection of ultra high quality pet foods along with very knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Great staff but horribly overpriced especially the cat furniture when compared to other retailers.

With the lockdown going on, I called the store in hopes of recommendations for a puppy food. Pam was on the line and after completely understand the situation she recommended a couple remedies I could try with my puppy before changing the food we give me. She also answered my questions about storage and puppy phase.
I can't be happier with the customer service she provided and I assure I will be recommending Ren's Pet to my friends and family.

Good prices and deals. The raw food section could be a little more stocked (Big Country Raw). Friendly and helpful staff!:)

This Ren's is one of the best places i have been too. The staff are helpful, friendly and remember you. I won't go anywhere else for my pet needs

Ren's is a very clean, well-stocked, well-organized store.
There is a lot of free parking. Hand sanitizer is readily available.
Aisle directions are clearly marked.
The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Staff is very friendly an helpful! They had great advice for me when picking out a gate for my backyard so my puppy could run around safely.
