Ren's Pets Kitchener

Best pet in store experiences when it comes to searching for good grooming supplies. As a professional dog groomer, usually have to look online, but it is awesome that Ren's is an option!

My dogs are new to Kitchener hence a new store. Today both my German shepherds went into the store for the first time. The staff immediately recognized them and gave them appropriate attention and finished with treats.
They're always so knowledgeable and helpful but today they went above and beyond.
This will be my one store.

It’s a shame that this location has pulled my dogs food off their shelf’s with no notice. We will miss the people at this store and if you ever start to carry Eukanuba again let us know.

Great shopping experience, clean store, some treat and toy prices were way out of my range but there was some lower priced treats.

I really like this company. Their staff are always friendly, and willing to help if you need it. It can take a while to do returns, but as long as you are patient, it is no issue! They carry a very good variety of products, have regular sales, and options for delivery as well! They also carry some better quality brands such as Purina Proplan which is recommended and sold by vets as well. This is my favorite place for all my pet related needs!

Great place, we just got a kitten and they were very helpful letting us know what would be best for him.

Plus the prices are good!

My cat got mad at me because I left for the weekend. Came home and could smell that he peed all over couch and rug. I went to pet store and right when I walked in, I was like wow. I was greeted by staff and another staff asked if she could help me. I told her my dilemma and she knew right away what I needed. Will be going here from now on for my pet supplies.

10/10 for the Kitchener Rens store! The ladies there we’re super helpful with assisting me in returning a faulty product that the Waterloo location wouldn’t help me with! I definitely will always go back to the Kitchener location!

Nice selection of products and friendly staff. Prices aren't the greatest but they do have some deals on things you regularly purchase

Everytime I go into Ren's I am greeted with friendly and knowledgeable staff. They really are trained well to help customers choose the right food, treats, leashes, and many other items for your special furry friend. I don't go anywhere else!

Wide selection of food. Sometimes getting stock on the shelves seems to be an issue. (supply issues?)

Always great. Bonus when you're their people do bring their dogs in so you get to see some pretty fancy dogs staff they all have pets and they know what they're talkin about. I take their advice wonderful here thank you Robin

They are a bit over priced and the free bag of dog food after so many purchases seems to be increasing ever so slowly, definitely not for pet owners who might be hard on money.

My only complaint is they don't have much selection for pet birds. However I think the prices are better here than some of the competing Canadian pet stores. I also like the program where you buy 12 and get 1 free on pet food.

The Cashier lady was super friendly! 10/10 will return as they always have what I'm looking for!

Rude, careless, apathetic staff. Didn't even bag my items let alone ask if I needed a bag. Cold demeanor. This location blows in terms of customer service.

Helpful and friendly staff were ready to answer our questions. Found the brands of catfood we were looking for and checkout was quick.

Love Ren’s. I get all of my toys and treats from them. My dog is on a special diet and they have several options available that will not upset his stomach.

A smaller location, was hoping to find some boots for my dog but they were sold out of the ones we were looking for in a set of 4. Great selection of treats and raw food

Love this store, what they stand for, the product lines they carry and, of course, the very friendly and helpful staff! Always seems to be well stocked with our usuals. Just a great, pet friendly shopping experience! I highly recommend this store!

Great selection and helpful staff. Plus its locally owned and stocks a lot of Canadian products that are clearly labeled as such.

Love this place! I much prefer Rens Pets over competing big box petstores. The staff here are such obvious pet lovers and are so friendly and knowledgeable, very quick to help. On occasion we bring our pup in and he has the time of his life.

Really disappointed with staff. Older and not comfortable with technology, so called in. Asked about placing order and was told they were too busy and would only accept online orders.
Told the rep that I wasn't comfortable with the site and it seemed to not work well. I was told that it wasn't her problem and that I could go somewhere else. How's that for great customer service.

Shopped for my mom, not a pet owner personally. Didn't know where to look, asked the employee for some help, she turned me around and there was what I needed. Staff very friendly and very helpful not only to myself but the other customers as well. Great store with a nice setup, and well labeled aisles.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!
Not a single car or person waiting for curb side pickup and they can’t answer the phone like really!

Unfortunately I've had some really unpleasant experiences with this store lately, I was hoping it was a one-off, but after multiple bad experiences and today's experience I'm afraid something has changed at this store. While compassionate to the adjustments required during lockdown, my online order has been wrong multiple times, missing items. Today I picked up an order and asked to review it first because my other order was missing items. I did not ask for a refund or a replacement, because that order they didn't give me the receipt either- I was taking this as a loss. The customer service representative today did not greet me, did not say goodbye after I had paid; they walked away after my payment was approved. Call me old fashioned, but it felt very rude, and felt like I was completely irritating this person. Further, when I had mentioned about my previous orders being incomplete (and yet I had paid for the missing items.) they walked away without saying a word. No further questions, no remark of any kind. I am pretty disappointed, as I've had some bad experiences and multiple rude customer service representatives, who were by all means, not providing basic service, and not representing the company well at all.

Lost our business permanently! My fiance and I went to look for a product for our dog and had some questions about the product. The women we spoke to was completely snarkly, offer no information, seem to not even want us there or had the time of day for a simple conversation. She made us feel so uncomfortable that I just walk away. Shortly after my fiance did the same. When got into the car and looked at each and said.what the hell was that? I said not sure but that is why I walked away because I was going to say something. We left and went to another pet store and this wonderful lady answered all our questions. We will never spend our hard earned money at Ren's again and be treated like that.

I found them rude, I dropped by for curbside pickup and was told you need to go to your car and call. I was then told their lines were down, I tried to call and could not get through. I went to a small local pet store and gave them my money, and I will continue to support local now.

Everyone is always happy to help. A regular customer here at Victoria St N location since it opened. Great service.including at curbside during this crazy pandemic.

I think that curbside pickup and click and collect brings out the worst in ppl. I've always had a good experience at this location however, on Sat Jan 9th /21 this was not the case. I was made to feel like I was inconveniencing the staff member bc I had two orders and a gift certificate to use towards my order. The staff member made it seem that this was a huge hassle for her. This was based off her comments and constant sighs.

This rens always has an amazing selection. I can never find the raw food I am looking for in Cambridge. Kitcheners stock is awesome! I will be shopping here again.

The product stock is not as complete as the Boardwalk but acceptable.

I am a little uncomfortable here because I asked for help a few of times and they seemed so irritated. Even when explaining a new product the condescending tone is loud. Kind of like being in Paris, it’s not just one person.

Even at the billing counter their tone changes when speaking to someone of other ethnicities and older women but giving them the benefit of doubt I don’t believe they actually realize they talk down to certain people. They follow the rules of the franchise and that’s something.

Staff is always friendly and helpful. Enormous new freezer that allows them to stock a wide range of raw food.

They have a huge selection of raw dog food and raw bones/treats (specifically Big Country Raw!) as well as higher end dog foods that you won’t find at Pet Smart.

The staff are amazing as well and ask us about our dog even when we come in without her! They always have great recommendations and know their stuff. The store is always clean and they often have decent sales.

My only issue is that they are lacking in coats/beds for super small dogs. I believe they only carry down to a size XS in most stuff which is still too big for our dog. If you have a medium-large dog, you’ll have lots of options. Other than that, I’m super happy with them.

I always have to get them to look up the bag of food I need, and they always do with with a smile. Very helpful

Buy 12 bags if dog food get one free. At $90 a bag I was looking forward to my free bag. When I purchased my 11th bag they tell me the program is discontinued and offered me a $10 voucher, then upped it to $20. Do the math it's $55 short and I will never use the voucher. If it wasn't for the fee bag program I would have never bought that food.

Twice, that I go there to pick up
our dog food and they didn't have it. Not too happy about it. The staff is awesome and helpfully. The only thing I don't understand is if you purchase a BIG dog bag they will ask you if you need assistance to your car. So if your next person in line you have to wait for the cashier to come back.lol!

Great store, and the staff is great. The tills went down right before I was about to pay, and they dealt with it very well!

Wife and I went to Victoria street store today and we we're so impressed. Manger (small blonde lady). Sorry didn't get name helped us find food to switch to because of DPM disease. Was incredibly helpful other stores not as good, will go here from now on.

They always have what I want. They're quick and friendly. They offer points so you can get free stuff after so many purchases.

Great selection on dog sweaters! The staff was great and let me try on the sweaters for proper sizing.

We have been buying our dog 2 bags of the Natural Balance every time we go into the store. My wife and I have each been told by Rens on separate occasions that they have a buy 10 get 1 free bag program. So today when we went in we asked about that bag as it's been more than 10 we have purchased and were told "oh Natural Balance does not subscribe to this program". That's all fine but Natural Balance didn't tell us about the program it was the people at Rens Pet Depot that lied to us. Very horrible excuse and lack of training and knowledge to be telling customers this if it's not true. Will definitely be shopping elsewhere from now on with better customer service.

The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about what we needed for our new puppy! Their rewards program is also fantastic!

Super friendly staff. Top tier level customer service. Always greeted warmly when you enter the store and always offered help to take large items to the vehicle. I go in with my baby so as soon as I am greeted they ask if I need help to find anything and when I say what it is, they will go and get it for me and have it ready at the counter while I finish my shopping.

This was my first visit to Ren's and I was pretty impressed. I had no particular brand I was looking for, just senior dog food. The person who helped me was awesome, knew where to find what I wanted almost immediately.

The store also has a great policy of letting you return pet food if your pet doesn't like it as long as at least half of it is left and you have the receipt.

I plan on returning often now.

Today was my first visit and i was very disappointed. I was looking for a particular cat food recommended to me. When i had a chance to ask, I was advised they didn't carry it any longer. I asked if they had anything comparable to recommend or samples for my cat to try. Answer was No! No one offered me any assistance. I grabbed a few cat treats on sale and left. I won't be going there again. Maybe if you have a dog you'd get better service!

I got a gift card for here when I got my cat. But it turns out a $20 gift card can't buy that much here. Also it mostly just has dog stuff, so if you've got a cat, probably not worth coming all the way here. Unless you want some specific

Very helpful staff. Hours are great as I can pick up supplies before work. I also find their prices better then the competition.

I do enjoy going to this store most of the staff is really great with the exception of a couple woman. Some items are very expensive but they also have some great sales just pop in often and keep your eyes peeled. MY pupper loves this store so much

I absolutely love this store! You always get a warm welcome by all the staff and they are incredibly helpful with every little thing. They give lots of attention to your dog if you bring them along with you. The store is easy to navigate and there is always lots of staff around to help you carry things, find things or get a helping hand. They offer to carry everything to your car for you too! Above and beyond service!
