Best South Indian food in Barrie so far. We loved the chicken Briyani, Desi ghee Masala Dosa, Vada sambar and ginger tea. Amazing customer service. Highly recommend to everyone.

We had Chicken biryani, Vada Sambar and Gulab Jamon for dinner at South Indian Xpress. I must say you should definitely visit this restaurant when you are around Barrie. I loved the authentic aroma of biryani, vada was crispy and tasted awesome. I learned that it’s a new management and the staff were too kind & welcoming. I would love to visit again.

Never recommend to anyone. Had biriyani and its too spicy and cannot eat it. I wonder how they get 5 stars.

All of the employees and always busy on the phone. Talking to someone on the earphone. Very unprofessional while dealing with customers!

The worst Biriyani and filter coffee I ever had. I have no idea how they have five stars; it must be from people who work there. Never recommend it to anyone.

I made an online order before they opened and they called me right away to let me know that they’re not open yet (on the chance I didn’t see their hours). I really appreciated this! Their dosas are great, sambar isn’t overpowering and mint coconut chutney was perfect. Definitely returning!

Food was amazing. I placed my order ahead of time and was ready on pickup. I wasn’t too sure about what to order so asked for some recommendations. So glad I did. The food was delicious!

I just discovered South Indian Xpress and everything I have had so far has been delicious. It has now become my go to takeout spot in Barrie!

Ordered a biriyani, these guys made it too spicy I cannot even eat it. Highly unprofessional staff, never coming back here again. They can't even replace the order and they ask me to pay again for new biriyani. My message to everyone reading my comment don't go to this restaurant. Absolutely waste of time and money.

First time trying, totally disappointed, Sambar curry is sweet, crepe is not good, expected crisp, but was hard.

Excellent Dosas, so fresh and crispy. A must go for everybody who loves or would like to try South Indian food. Keep up the excellent work

Was pleasant experience, BUT.
We ordered 4 masala dosa and 2 masala dosa with podi masala but some how person who took order he misunderstood and charged us 4 masala dosas only. When we reach there for pick up he apologize and asked chef to make another two but chef was like we don’t have masala anymore. Means are you guys serious about business? You guys are open till midnight and at 7pm you are out of masala?

Totally loved the food. Masala dosa and sambhar are the ones which won the prize for me. Amazing quality of food and communication with the guys. Avinash well done and keep it up.

Best Dosa and Biryani. Tried their masala dosa, came with coconut chutney and sambar was very flavourful. Biryani is spicy and tasty. Keep up the good work guys

Uttapam and puri were tasty. Masala dosa is to die for. Loved coconut chutney so much. Good vegan options too. The guys were friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. Will definitely be going back soon.

Best South Indian food I every had. Their Dosa, Idli and all other South Indian foods best. I will recommend everyone to try this restaurant.

The first South Indian restaurant in Barrie. Gone are the days, where we need to go to Toronto to eat Dosas and Biryani.

Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani is authentic and spicy. Don't forget to mention double masala.

Mouth watering Idli and Dosa, such a nice place, parking available, location easy to access, clean and disciplined staff with very reasonable price.

Not the authentic flavoured hydrabadi biriyani. Tastes ok, Ordered podi Idli, ponganalu, dosa, uttapam and biriyani. Had to wait 1 and half hour in total, but dosas came missing with chutney and sambar. Disappointed on how much delay they did and dint place peanut chutney, when we specifically asked for it and they made us wait but dint serve it

Best biryani and masala dosa. Nice and spicy. Really like the service and how the place treated me. I usually go to Toronto for biryani or dosa, but finally I am very happy I can find food in Barrie which tastes outstanding. Thanks guys. Would like to see more items in the menu soon.
