I got the "ultimate Irish breakfast" and it was without doubt the worst breakfast I've ever had. It was swimming in grease, and everything on the plate was way over cooked.

Great place to stop in for breakfast, loved the vibe. Expect a lineup on weekends as it’s a small place, but I’ve never had to wait too long. Omelettes are superb, perfectly yellow with no brown burn! The home fries were adequate, not over the moon. Fresh squeezed orange juice too. Very nice staff as well, great service. I’d definitely recommend it.

Excellent little piece in the corner. They do Irish inspired diner food that is the best of both worlds combined as well as the staples. They've got some good beers available, the coffee was great and it was a good buzz inside. Definitely recommend.

Exceptional service and a delicious breakfast. Everyone at my table had something different (except for two orders of the Irish Breakfast), and everybody thoroughly enjoyed it. Coffee was excellent and always flowing. Even the nostalgic music that fulled the diner and spilled onto the patio was great. I highly recommend a visit.

I used to love coming here. My latest experience was BEYOND DISAPPOINTING. The staff left me standing outside in the rain due to changes in their policy. They will not seat you until your party is completed. I was told before they were making exceptions. Inconsistency always leads to customer disappointment. I came here to support small local businesses, and I'm rating my recent experience as very unpleasant. It's time to move on and find a new place to go.

This diner is BOMB! Great vibes, retro aesthetics and killer menu! I’ve been around the city for breakfast/brunch but this rustic spot just feels different. It is definitely one of the finest gems in the city that offers wholesome and mouthwatering meals. I’ll be visiting very soon! Till next time, ciao!

Notwithstanding the BLTs (more on that in a bit), the George Street Diner remains a quintessential breakfast destination in the east downtown. Patio is shaded and well spaced out, and inside booths have been partitioned accordingly. Breakfast portions are substantial and reputationally, you’ll likely want to go for the Ultimate Irish. Sig Other had it today and wasn’t disappointed. I however chose the BLT and regretted it - while the crusty open faced roll was perfect, everything else was bland - even the bacon, which should be the star of any BLT was dry crumbly and flavorless. Really need to question the brand and quality there because it lets down a good idea (served like a sub). Amp up the ingredients and it’ll be fine.
It’s important to keep going to places like George Street Diner because the downtown development has little patience for a single storey building on a busy street in condo-land.

Ate inside this cute little diner. Would be nicer if they removed the boarded up windows. The food was really good. Loved the fresh cut fries and the chorizo burger was delicious!

Incredible service from everyone being cheerful and supportive. Our waiter stood out even in this quality team. Alas I didn't get his name. Being Irish I had the Ultimate Irish Breakfast, Holly had the standard and we shared. Everything was superb, but for me the blood pudding side really shined.

This is one of our favourite breakfast and brunch spots in the city. It is such an iconic diner, with tons of character and, most importantly, great food. We have been going for years, both pre-pandemic and now during the pandemic times. Our favourite dish is the Full Irish Breakfast. Every item on the plate is fantastic. I should add that the jam is an additional charge, but is worth it. The service is excellent, with a distinctive diner and family vibe. Will be coming back here for years to come!

Love this spot! We can see it from our balcony window and it definitely stands out as the little red diner. They currently have expanded their patio as part of cafeTO and we finally tried it out - everything was reasonably priced and delicious. The portions were pretty big as well and they had meat and vegetarian options. The service itself was pretty good as well especially considering that it was the second day of reopening. The famous soda bread was also pretty good!

Awesome and kind staff, got the Irish breakfast! Very delicious bacon, sausage and high quality eggs. I just didn’t like the bread (corn bread I think?) I would’ve wanted a whole wheat toast instead. Prices are a little high aswell, but honestly with the quality of food it almost justifies it!

Been going here for years but just ordered takeout for the first time since the pandemic and was so pleased with the service, food, price and portion size. Glad they’ve been able to stay open they’ve become a neighbourhood staple!

We've been here many times and the food is consistently delicious! Usually we dine in, but with the restrictions we got takeout and it's still just as good. Standouts for me are the jumbo breakfast roll (it really is hugeee) and the bacon butty. The service is also a highlight - all the staff are so warm, friendly and attentive.

Price was a little higher than expected by few dollars. Spent about $42 for 2 people

Nice place for breakfast or brunch. Tried a couple of frittatas. They tasted ok but the portions were definitely small for the price! The coffee though was excellent.

It feels exactly like a diner from a movie. The service is quick and the food is good. Unlike some diners, the food is not exactly cheap, but it makes up for it with taste. A club sandwich, coke and dessert will run you $32 by the time everything is added in.

George Street Diner embodies everything you’d expect from your local diner. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and threw us some easy banter. The bacon was crispy as opposed to the limp stuff you get elsewhere. The atmosphere was fun with the little toys along the wall and well lit due to the windows illuminating the entire venue. Will definitely be back.

This is a great little spot to grab a quick, tasty meal. I've gone here several times for lunch and always get the Irish breakfast. Super delicious, reasonably priced, and always fills me up. From what I've seen, everything else looks excellent, too.

Don’t let the name or setting fool you. This place serves super-high quality food in an unpretentious way. Staff are amazingly friendly and down-to-earth. Great spot for a relaxed but quality hangover breakfast. Especially recommend the Irish breakfasts. So so good.

Had the worst Mac & Cheese I've ever tasted there. The cook used bare hand to transfer the cooked pasta to the pan and used a plastic spoon (with a discolored tip due to burnt plastic) to stir the hot sauce with the pasta. And of course there was a hair in it. I didn't taste any cheese but I'm pretty sure there was some cheap cheese in it.

Loved the food, classic mac and cheese with fries for me and grilled cheese for my boyfriend. Real diner style grub. Was surprised to see the Irish touches in the menu. The staff were friendly and efficient made recommendations, more like temptations. We sat at the bar for that real diner feel and just loved it. I could come back again and again if I lived nearby.

Classic dinner foods with some great specials! An added bonus is that Harry Potter went on a date here or something!

Unique experience. Typical old style dinner with both and counter seats. You enter and you inhale the years of character of the place. Surprisingly Irish. A few things of Irish touch from menu items, purchase goods from pantry and even the staff. The food is no gimmick old style good. Comforting and nostalgic at the same time. It's busy most of the time so be prepared to wait. Parking also a challenge in around the area. Lastly, place may look familiar as a few movies, commercials and music videos have been shot there. Thumbs up.

Finally a place that can cook Crispy bacon without burning it. This place is a gem. My first time here and the vibe is refreshing and joyous. Every staff member seems genuinely happy to be here. If you need a little sunshine in your day come to The George Street Diner.

What can I say absolutely fantastic! This is a gem in Toronto! The food is just fantastic! The staff are attentive, fun and all around great. We are now making this our weekend breakfast/ brunch spot! I can't say enough about the George Street Diner. It's an amazing fun place. Even the prices, for Toronto, are great for the food you get and the awesome service! Also if you luv Shawn Mendes, you need to go here! Awesome!

Honestly, the place is just "okay". Looking at reviews, I expected something beyond outstanding, but it ended up just an expensive brunch place with average sized portions, small space/not enough seating, almost always full, and brunch didn't taste like there's no tomorrow. The service is still great, food is ok. Rye bread is mindblowingly amazing, but this is it.

Great food, interesting waitresses. Bit of a wait when its busy. Daniel Radcliffe filmed a romantic film there in Toronto. Had the croque monsieur and it was delicious. Whole grain mustard, the meat was delicious, shaved, flavourful, plentiful and very tender. My friend was jealous and kept stealing bites!

With head dishwasher, Gabriel Staiano in there, the dishes come out sparkling like a fine diamond. The dishes are so clean I am temporarily blinded and its terrifying driving home, but that's okay! Overall wonderful pictures to look at. I like the bike art!

Nice spot.great classic diner.had the all day Irish breakfast.the Irish Soda Bread was a great touch with home made jam. Home made apple crumble for desert gets a thumbs up. Staff are unpretentious have a quick wit and are real. Good food, good people good armosphere.they earned my business and will be back for sure

Way to expensive for what is served. Bean burger was mushy and soft. More like warm baked hummus then a burger. The atmosphere is nice. 1960's interior.

It’s a charming little diner with friendly staff. The food is standard for a diner, decent portions and prices. Overall, a great place if you’re looking for a typical diner experience. They do have quite a crowd on weekends though, so be forewarned that you might have to wait for 10-15 minutes for a table.

Super cute little place! Not that bad of a wait, even for brunch on a Sunday, I think because it's a few blocks away from trendy Queen St. The Irish soda bread is a lovely little treat.
