Had a poor experience with the building department a few months back. Called multiple times to ask for some clarification, never received a call back. Went into city hall to see if I could speak with someone and got attitude from the building department receptionist who I was nothing but polite too. The receptionist said I needed to call and make an appointment to see someone, which is difficult to do when they wont return phone calls.
As a tax payer I was unable to get any assistance and eventually decided I didn't want to go through the headache of building in the municipality. As a result I ended up selling the property and moved to another municipality in the GVA.
