We had two brand new fireplaces installed, plus direct venting set up and connection to new Fortis gas meter. Had great service, from Al who gave us a good introduction, to Roger who came over for appraisal and a quote, to Tessa that some how scrambled and somehow was able to fit us in whenever someone cancelled, and finally to Andy and his partner who did all the installations (retrofitting an older house is never simple and straightforward). Great service and great support. Another review mentioned about "overpriced". Not sure. We had a quote from another local outfit. The numbers were very comparable, but the knowledge and expertise was way superior with South Island, and we really appreciated the advice that we received. Thank you! EDITED Feb 2024. We had a great experience six years ago, but clearly follow up service leaves to be desired. In the fall of 2022, had to call several times to finally arrange a service appointment. In the fall of 2023, called. They were supposed to call back with estimate and arrange appointment. Now, Feb 2024 still waiting. Won’t bother to call back. Will look for another gas fireplace business in spring.

We decided to completely remove our old river rock/wood insert fireplace and put in a propane fireplace. We shopped around Victoria & Nanaimo and were pleasantly surprised when we walked into their showroom in Duncan. We fell in love with one of the fireplaces on display. Roger worked with us, came to our house a number of times, recommended a carpenter (John) to tear out the old fireplace completely and frame in for the new one. He also recommended an electrician and a drywaller. All came to the house for meetings/plans/scheduling. It was awesome! John, the framer, was great.we didn't know exactly what we were getting into, and he tore out and restarted at least twice as we changed our visions. Nick and Cole (the fireplace installers) came a few times to check on things. Today was the final assembly. We couldn't believe the extent they went to, even asking us how we wanted the rocks and glass arranged! This project has gone without a single hiccup.planning, pricing, communication, framing, final installation.all the absolute epitome of how a project should go! I cannot recommend Roger and his staff enough.

This is the place to shop for all your fireplace and barbecue needs. The staff are Pleasant, knowledgeable. And very helpful. They also stand beside the products they sell.

We were in here the other day with our toddler getting a guard to keep him away from the hot fireplace, and the staff were just wonderful. We looked around and were impressed by what they had in stock and the prices seemed quite reasonable. We will be back for a bbq next spring, this place was a great discovery.

Phenomenal service from prompt and competitive pricing with Allan, updates on delivery, wood fireplace choices and installation with Kerry! What a great and smooth experience and we get to have our "perfect for us" wood fireplace/chimney, couldn't be happier and highly recommend.
